Started reading Her Soul to Take by Harley Laroux

Hello there Bookies,

I thought I would update you on the book I'm recent reading while I still have time and internet. I haven't really had time to fully dive into this book. So for a little while I was a little confused on what was going on because not a whole lot gets explained. I'm sure if I read the author's letter to the readers in the beginning, it would have clued me in, but I just skipped it. But the more I read the more I am starting to understand. I'm not far enough into the book to judge anything. But I will assume that this is going to be a romance between a ghost hunter and a demon. Of course the ghost hunter doesn't care about safety when it is a chance to have a good story for their livelihood. I'm curious on what this book is going to hold. I just know that it is a dark romance and I know nothing of the plot. How else are we going to get an honest review?

So until next time....

Finished reading Hooked

 Hello Bookies,

I got some internet and time to update you on Hooked. I finished the book. It was an okay book. I feel like the whole book was rushed. There is a bit of a twist close to the end. But you don't get time to recover from the twist before the book ends because everything is so rushed. The only criticism I have for the book is that the author could have taken some time to build up the romance. To me it feels like they just built a whole romance on lust and revenge. The feelings couldn't be put as authentic to me once I finished the book. I did appreciate that the book had an epilogue to help wrap up any loose ends in the book. I like that if the author can't wrap up the book nicely at the end but they use and epilogue to do so. Sadly, the book is going to get three out of five stars from me. The story was good and I like the idea of villains getting the love they deserve. But what hurt this book was how rushed everything felt. If the author focused more on the details and the build up of a relationship, the rating could have been higher.

So until next time.....

Started reading Hooked by Emily McIntire

Hello there Bookies,

I'm grabbing a book off of my bookshelf for the next few books. Also to warn you that I will probably not be able to post as much due to the fact that I am going on vacation for a week. I'll be sure to make notes on each book I read if I don't get a chance to post while I'm on vacation. It is also the reason why I'm grabbing books from my bookshelf instead of getting them from the library. My first pick is Hooked by Emily McIntire and I can't remember if I read any books of hers. I'll find out when I go through my list of authors. Anyway I know nothing about this book and there is a trigger warning in this book but the author said so themselves that they don't want to ruin the surprise, but if you want to be prepared there is a little website you can go to in order to know what those trigger warnings are for. I personally like to be surprised because that give the best kind of authentic reaction. All I know about this book is that the villain gets to have their chance at love. That is it. I'm not sure how this is going to play out but I'm kind of excited.

So until next time....

Finished reading Hunting Adeline

Hello Bookies,

I finally finished this book. It took me so much longer because I had a week of warring moods and reading was impossible. But I have finally done it and the last few spicy scenes ended with me needing a breather and some ice cream. That is all I have to say because we aren't here to discuss my kinks. Anyway, it did take Addie a while to heal but Zade was a patient man along with helping her heal along the way. He literally gave her full control in every situation until she felt comfortable with doing the spicy with him. And, once that was done, there was no holding back Zade. I am a little sad that the duet is over. I feel like we could know a little more about our two main characters but I guess there isn't much more to do once you get rid of the main conflict. But an epilogue would have been nice. Maybe a few years past and our two main characters living as happy as they can be while having a family. I don't know but something to kind of wrap up the loose ends and the story in a pretty black bow. I'm just a little disappointed in the ending. Other than that, I liked the book. I liked reading it and I didn't hate it. Yes, there are some things we will question but not shame. We don't judge here since this book is basically targeting the BDSM community. There was one scene that had me confused on what I was reading but that could just be because I was having trouble picturing the position. Might be reader error on that one. I would recommend this duet to people but I would also highly warn them that there might be some stuff in this book that could be triggering. I'm sure people even skip the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book because they are so eager to read the books. But I highly recommend you read them first so you have an idea on what you are getting into. Sadly, due to the disappointing end, I give the book three stars out of five. If the ending didn't end the way it did, it probably would have gotten four. Also I know some of you would be surprised that it didn't get five stars or wasn't even in the running for five stars. Even though the book was good, I just didn't get emotionally attached to the book. There were no tears, no sitting at the edge of my seat, nothing really. That is the reason why five stars is always so hard for a book to get.

So until next time....

Halfway through Hunting Adeline

Hello there Bookies,

The first half of this book is brutal. Addie is literally going through hell trying to survive. I feel so bad for the character and I can't help but wonder about the research needed to write this book. The first half of this book is the down right ugly of the world. Zade is even going through hell trying to find Addie while fighting the images in his mind about what she could be going through. Finally he finds her but there is a lot of healing that needs to take place and Zade knows it. He gives her the space she needs and even the help she needs. This is where I can see where Zade gets romanticized a lot in the social media world. He is putting his needs and wants aside just to help Addie come back to life. It's kind of sweet. But I'm not going to give you the gruesome details this book holds because it is not for the light of heart. The author's trigger warnings hold true for this book and listen to them before you read the book. Unless you are so desensitized by everything in the world. I'm only desensitized by my criminology background, even though I didn't fully pursue it, I know how cruel the world can be. But now I'm going to read about Addie healing. Right now she isn't comfortable with anyone touching her at the moment and that is understandable. I wouldn't want anyone to touch me either if I went through what she did.

So until next time...

Started reading Hunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton

Hey there Bookies,

This book came sooner than expected and I'm ready to continue the story. With the first book ending on a cliff hanger, I am eager to figure out what is going to happen next. We know that Zade is going to do everything he can to get Addie back. I have a feeling that this book is going to be a rollercoaster. I have been told that this book is better than the first but we will have to see. I also noticed in the trigger warning page that a few of my personal kinks are going to be in this book as well. I'm curious on how they are going to be played out. Again, I feel like I must place a reminder that this duet is targeted toward a certain group in the BDSM community and fully understanding it helps with understanding some of the things going on in the books. Also I feel like the romance shouldn't be the main focus in this book when reading it. This is like getting a peek at a world that we try to ignore. Either way I am excited to read the book and hopefully I can finish this quick since I am so behind on my reading schedule. I have until the 15th to finish my small stack of books.

So until next time...

Finished reading Somewhere Beyond the Sea

Hello Bookies,

I have finally finished reading the book. It took me so much longer than planned because I somehow ended up with a second job that takes up most of my reading time. But our lovely characters have been through a rollercoaster of events. This book does continue on from the first book and it starts with Arthur going to a hearing about his experiences with the DICOMY and the DICOMA. But sadly, he goes unheard. Instead one of the politicians decided to twist his words and stories for her own gain. Then an inspector is being sent to the island once again. But first Arthur must pick up a child in need of a new home. There was also a proposal at some point. The inspector comes to the island and the children make is very interesting for her. The inspector then gets banished and the government comes for revenge only to anger a certain sprite. Gets banished. The island than gets connected to the main land and everyone lives happily ever after. Well at least for now. There are more details in the book but that is the run down. I want you to read this book. I really enjoyed it and I find any book that T.J. Klune writes adorable. I look forward to more of this story but I know that this could be the last one. Or, the author is just going to sit on this and wonder how the story is going to continue. Either way I will read it. The book gets three out of five stars. It was almost four stars but I can't say that I loved this book. I enjoyed it and I love the characters in it. But I still wouldn't say that I love the book. Would recommend though.

So until next time....
