Reading Outsider by Stephen King

Hello Bookies,

I might actually finally do it. I might actually finish a Stephen King book. I've got the audiobook for this one and I'm breezing through. Well sort of. Being on a slight burnout, it helps to just listen to something before bed while playing a mobile game. But the book is also pretty interesting. We have a murder that points to one person doing it. But the person of interest has a solid alibi. So the whole book is trying to figure out how that is possible. Also if the person of interest is innocent, trying to figure out who actually did it. This is a book that really makes you think and makes you pay attention to details. That is probably why I enjoy the book. It keeps me engaged in trying to solve the problem. I still have a way to go but I will not reveal who did it. I want you all to figure it out by reading the book.

So until next time...

Let's Get Personal #21

 Hello there Bookies,

It has been a while. I've had a few long weeks and now I'm just too tired to do anything. Especially read. So I am going to put away the book I was reading, Just Like Home, and move on to audiobooks until I feel better. Also I experienced a death in my family that I had to deal with, which also put a strain on me mentally due to the fact that it meant I had to drive 16 hours to Oklahoma for the service. Hopefully a few weeks of rest will get me back to normal. At least I can say that I have defeated my reading challenge of 120 books. Next year we are aiming for 130 books.

So until next time....

Started reading Just Like Home by Sarah Gailey

Hey there Bookies,

I decided to take a break from the dark romance and grab a thriller instead. I did attempt to read this book at one point but I don't think I got very far. This is all new to me. I've never read a book by this author before and if I did, I don't remember or record it. I have no idea what this book is about which is perfect for a true review. I just know that this book was on my recommended list and the library was replacing the copy, so I snatched it. I can't wait to sink into the mysteries of this book. Wish me luck.

So until next time...

Finished reading Her Soul to Take

Hello Bookies,

It took me longer to read this book than expected because I made the mistake to not read during my vacation. It felt like every time I opened my book, someone used that time to bug me about something. But it is done and I think the story was written quite well. We actually had a plot that we could follow. Our main character Rae is interested in the paranormal. Making it her goal to prove that it all does exist. But it seemed like fate had other plans for her. Turns out she is destined to be a sacrifice and the whole book is her trying to survive. All the while falling in love with a demon named Leon. But for the majority of the book she just likes his company and mistakes her feelings as just safety and lust. It also doesn't help that Leon is always angry and doesn't know what he wants either. Well except that he wants Rea's soul. So a lot of spicy scenes happen and monsters are coming after Rae the majority of the book. The really good stuff happens at the end when the cult who want to use Rae as a sacrifice finally gets a hold of her. But I'm not going to tell you more than that because that would just ruin the book. I did enjoy the book but I didn't love the book. Sadly making it only get three stars out of five from me. The book didn't grip me and again it is another book that feels like it rushed a bit. I know that there are other books in this series, but they will have to wait because the library doesn't have them and I have to save money for the holidays. Maybe a family member will take pity on me and get me the books I need.

So until next time....

Let's Get Personal #20

 Hello there Bookies,

I'm finally home once again with a stable internet connection. Even though I didn't get much reading done, I plan to catch up now that I'm not running around Oklahoma. Right now I'm just getting settled back at home. Even my dog Kaito is exhausted from the trip. But we are all happy to be back. I just want to wish you all a happy holidays. Now I'm off to read more of the latest book I started.
