Bunny

I've actually started reading this book a little bit before bed every night when I needed a break from Game of Thrones. But now it's going to have my full attention. This book was discovered through a video on Booktube. I can't remember what it is about but I thought it had some cult like stuff in it. I could be wrong. I've watched so many book recommendations that I could be mixing some things up. I'm not far in the book to tell you all that is going on. Just that our lead girl, Samantha, is in college for writing. In one of her classes she shares it with this group of girls. The group of girls have a habit of calling each other Bunny all of the time. Samantha is pretty uncomfortable with it, but when she gets an invitation to join one of their group get togethers, her interest is peaked. After some debating she goes and that is all I got so far. They read some errotic stories and drink alcohol. That is what I got from this little gathering so far. But we are just getting into the book. I just have to read more to see what secrets this book holds.

I have no idea what is going on in this book. I'm so confused. We have our leading lady, Samantha, waking up in her apartment after a night with the "Bunnies". She hardly remembers much and tries to find her friend Ava to talk about it, but she can't find Ava anywhere. They eventually run into each other but it is all awkward between them. It makes you wander if something else happened or not between the two friends. Feeling friendless, Samantha falls more into the world of the Bunnies. They throw a prom in one of their houses and invites Samantha to join. They even somehow bring her high school crush to the prom. Right away you feel like something isn't right because all of the guests that aren't the Bunnies are acting a little strange. Almost robotic. Eventually a scene breaks out at the prom night and Samantha, I think, passes out from it. She wakes up in one of the Bunny's houses and the bunny gives her some pills. Now these pill I know do something to Samantha because her memory gets all foggy and she forgets that anyone exists except the Bunnies. After getting these pills, she becomes one of them. Then a lot of weird stuff happens and I can't help but think that this is all just happening in Samantha's head while she is on the pills. Like it all looks real to her, but it actually isn't. I guess we will have to read more to see if my theory is correct.

This book is a trip. I can see why people would be confused by the book. The whole entire time you are wondering if the person is on drugs or if it is actually real. But my theory on that the whole book is a drug trip was kind of wrong. I won't tell you what is actually going on because it will ruin the whole twist at the end. Well, its not a twist really. It is more like a big reveal. How I was describing this book to people was that it's about a girl who joins a group of other girls. The girls are mean but they do try with Samantha. Anyway, you get exploding bunnies that turn into men. That isn't the main thing in the book but it really sticks to you because you are trying to figure out how it is possible. Wonder if the girls slipped something into Samantha's drink. But as confusing at the book is and how much it is a trip, I still enjoyed it. I wouldn't say that I would pick it up again because I now know what happens, but I still really liked it. It was an interesting concept and it really makes you think. Sadly, the book isn't quite five stars. I'm probably not going to give it four stars. Only because it didn't really draw me in. The book is as distant as the author made Samantha. It is like you want to love the book but it won't let you with all of its confusion. But I believe it or not, I would use this book as a study tool. What were the hints that foreshadowed the end? Stuff like that. I would love to analyze this book and figure out the clues I missed. But I do recommend this book if you want something that really makes you think.
