I'm on a new book. This one sadly has no audiobooks available for it, so I will have to do the old fashion reading it on my own. It looks like it will be a pretty easy read though. From skimming through the book, it looks like most of the chapters are short. Also from what I skimmed I believe the book is about a werewolf or something similar of the kind. I did attempt to read this book a long time ago but during that time I was recovering from a surgery and was more focused on healing than reading. Now I plan to give this book the full on attention it deserves. Wish me luck.

Well, I don't know what to say about this book so far. In all honesty I thought I would really enjoy this book when I first grabbed it. But in the books defense, it is the first in a series and it is giving some background. It's explaining the characters and the mysteries held in the series. There really isn't much to go on in a book where you have to explain how werewolves exist and how they change. I guess you have to go through the boring stuff to get to the interesting stuff. At least that is what I'm telling myself. But I think it is safe to say that I'm not in a paranormal phase anymore. I haven't found on paranormal related book that makes me want to read it in one sitting. Not since I have been back from my reading hiatus. I'm sure I've gotten close but still none that I can think of. It also amazes me that out of 14 books I've read, we've only had one five star book. So far everything has either been two or three stars. Yes, this book is probably going to fall into the pile of okay books but not for me. Unless something huge happens at the end of the book that makes me change my mind. But so far it isn't looking up. Even listening to the audiobook is kind of meh. Maybe its the monotone of the audiobook that is ruining the story. Who knows? I'm just trying to not bash this book too much.

I feel like this book took way longer than it needed to. Anyway nothing much happens in the book. It starts with Grace meeting Sam in wolf form because she gets attacked by the pack. She only gets attacked because it was a long hard winter and they were hungry. Then the book takes place six years after the attack. A kid at Grace's school gets attacked by wolves and is determined dead. Which results in a group of hunters getting together to kill the wolves. Now I have one question with the author on making this choice only because wolves are my favorite animal and seeing a group of people shoot wolfs because of one kid's death. Yes, he was a rich kid in the book. But wasn't there a different way to handle the meeting between Grace and Sam? Couldn't we have had a new wolf try to fight Sam for dominance and he ended up injured that way? I'm sure there could have been something else to do other than shooting the animals. But I'm not the author and it was not my choice. I'm sure they had their reasons. Anyway the book drags on as secrets get revealed and characters learn who they can and can't trust. Also looking for a very rage induced new wolf and trying to find them before someone gets seriously hurt keeps the story going a bit. But where I left off in the book is that Grace is trying to help same from changing. She was told that there was no cure for the condition Same has but she is determined to figure it out. Because she was bit and she didn't change. But if you want to know more about the book, I recommend you to read it. It is a good book for those that don't mind the slow burns in the paranormal world. Me, on the other hand, likes action right away. Slow burns kind of bore me a little. So this isn't a book for me. It got about two stars for me. It was okay, just not for me. I do plan on reading the second book because once I start a series I have to finish it. But I'm on to the next book.
