The Glittering Court

I have started another series. I'm a pretty big fan of Richelle Mead and you know that I've read a few series by her. So when I found this one, I just had to read it. My expectations are pretty high for this one. I hope I won't be disappointed. I'm just going to mention that I haven't read up on what this book is about. All I know is that Richelle Mead wrote it. That is all. So this is going to be an adventure for me. I've only read the first page so far and I'm kind of interested. I like how she starts it with the main character explaining that she didn't mean to take someone else's life.  Or, something like that. I hope the more I read the more interesting it will get. Now lets start this adventure.

So it is taking me so much longer to read this book than I expected. I'm not even a quarter of the way through. I guess school is taking a lot of my time lately. Also my writing is taking a lot of time. But I'm trying to get the book done in a timely manner. So far in the book we have a countess who has pretty much lost everything due to her parents dying tragically. Also her parents weren't much on making money and more about doing charity work. In order to save her family from complete ruin, she is forced to marry someone with lots of money and a title equal to hers. She ends up with a distant cousin that is obsessed with barley and has no sense of humor. She also notices that he scratches a lot to the point that it will drive her insane. So she finds out that one of her maids is being signed up for a thing called The Glittering Court. Its where they recruit girls and make them into housewives for the rich men in a different country. Our countess sees this as a chance to run away and change her life. So she sends away her maid because they don't want to do it, and she goes in their place. It's hard for her to fit in because there was a lot of things she didn't know how to do that most of the common girls did know how to do. But I pretty much stopped where they were having an indoor picnic with family members and friends. Good thing our countess has someone watching her back because they hired an actress to play a family member so that way she didn't stick out like a sore thumb. But our countess is sensing that something isn't going right during this small event. She can't help but get the feeling of urgency.

Sorry for not updating in a long while, but I have been trying to read this book and I just can't motivate myself to do it. I don't know if it is because I have a lot on my mind or I'm just not interested in the book. In all honesty I wanted to really leave this book because I've like every book that I have read by  Richelle Mead. I was expecting the same thing from this one but it didn't happen. It probably has to do with the slow beginning and the fact that we are focusing on the details of this world Mead has created. We can even blame it on my lack of motivation. But I can't get any farther than the last time I made a post. So I'm sad to say that I am returning the book to the library. It is only the right thing to do. I already had to force myself to read one book, it wouldn't be fair if I had to do it again with a different book. Maybe this is just not the book for me. But I'm sorry that I couldn't finish the book to tell you all about it. But if you want to know about the book, go read it yourself. I'm sure the book is good, but due to personal reason I just can't motivate myself to read. Maybe you guys can tell me how the book is in return. You just might motivate me to get the book again to read it. Who knows?
