Reading The Last Star

Hey there Bookies,

My goal is to finish at least one more book before the new year. Also to finish chapter three of my book. But I will have to say thank the Lord that the holidays are over. It means more reading and posting for you guys.

I'm about a third of the way through the book. Finally. Anyways, things are just leading up to the day the mother ship rains bombs on earth. So the tension is high with everyone. Also someone is almost dead after being shot while an old lady gets shot in the face. You have to read the book to see what I mean by that. But things are pretty much going to be dragged out it seems since the huge battle doesn't happen until spring arrives. So I'm reading every thought and every detail that has been written down to keep the story going. Honestly I kind of see it as rambling, but I guess some people like that. I'm just not that type of person who likes the details and have the scenes specifically painted out for me. Don't get me wrong, the book is pretty good so far, but it feels like it's just dragging on. I'm to the point that I want to say "can we just get to the fighting already?!" and sure we had an old lady get shot in the face, but that doesn't really keep me going for the book. I need more then someone getting shot in the face. Hopefully the book picks up in the next third of the book.

So until next time......

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone. Sorry for not posting in a long time. Things have just been really crazy. I thought things would calm down after NaNoWriMo but I appear to be wrong. Things just got more crazy that kept me busy. I had decorating to do for Christmas, another writing contest to prepare for, promoting another story that is in two different contests, and getting presents for everyone. On top of that, I'm getting ready to move so I have a ton of stuff I have to go through. The Sad thing is I don't want to get rid of anything. Everything was a gift from someone and I hate getting rid of gifts. But I do have to downsize for the move. But I am still reading. Just not as much as I thought I would be. Hopefully, after all of this is done I can sit back and relax with a good book. But keep an eye out for posts on the books I have been reading. I'm not sure when I'll post again, but keep an eye out for them. I will do it as soon as I can.

So until next time....

Started reading The Night Circus by Erin Margenstern

Bookies,

I could have sworn that I made a post about this book already, but I guess I was wrong. I'm no that far into the book. But I know that I had to read it when I saw it at the library. I know the book has been out for a while and the majority of you have read it already, but that doesn't stop me from sharing my thoughts. My first impression of the book is that the cover looks unique. Also, the book pulls you in by making you imagine a circus that only comes at night and then magically disappears. Then once you are hooked, it pulls you into a new world where you are introduced to a magician and his daughter. Only thing is these characters are actually magical. They don't need tricks and illusions to actually pull off some of the things they do. But the book keeps you wondering as the magician makes a bet with an old friend to compete their best students. Loser has to give up their student and the father is so sure his daughter would win. I wonder if she will or it's going to be a huge start to a very interesting story.

Started reading The Last Star by Rick Yancey

Hey Bookies,

I think it's kind of bad that I remember absolutely nothing from the second book. I don't even remember how it ended. So I'm going into this book highly confused. Also if I remember correctly, this is the last book in the series. Well, it was fun while it lasted. Anyways, I'm only three pages in so the first impression is going to be a little short. The cover looks pretty cool and I'm curious on how the title is going to play out in the book. I know that this book has to wrap up the entire series and humans have to win against the aliens to reclaim the earth. Another thing that I'm curious on playing out in the book. Right now I'm in a cave with a crying priest. Confused much?

So until next time......

Had to return everything....

Hey Bookies,

Due to the fact that I spent a whole month writing for NaNoWriMo, I had to return all of the books I originally checked out. Which kind of makes me sad. Anyways, I returned them and got a whole new stack. The new amount of books I have are The Night Circus, The Last Star, and two others that I don't really remember the titles of. Opps. Anyways, I'll be sure to request them back as soon as possible. But until then I have my other books that I have checked out to read along with some books that I got through giveaways that took place on Goodreads.

So until next time.....

Started reading Beneath This Man by Jodi Ellen Malphas

Hey there Bookies,

I'm going to have to pause reading Dark Frost due to the fact that someone requested a book that is in my hands. Meaning I have to return it next week. Sad face. So I'm speed reading this book and hopefully, I don't miss out on too much.

Honestly, I don't even remember what the first book is about. I don't even remember when I read the first book. I think I'll have to look at my past posts in order to remind myself.Anyways, I haven't really cracked open the book yet. I am literally on the first page. So my first impressions aren't going to be that great. But the cover gives you that dramatic feel to it, doesn't it? Anyways, I'm pretty excited to see what this book is all about. Maybe it will remind me all that happened in the first one. If not, it looks like I'll be reading my past posts. Wish me luck.

So until next time......

Reading Dark Frost

Hey there Bookies,

Sorry for taking so long to post about this book. My plate is full of work to do due to the fact that it is NaNoWriMo month. Also I have six contests that I am entering for my writing. I am even behind on my videos because I'm so busy. Hopefully I can catch up in the next few days. But lets getting talking about the book I'm reading.

So the book is pretty good so far. I feel bad that I don't really have the time to read it at the moment. Anyways, our leading lady Gwen is back in school after a long break. She has a lot on her plate with school, saving the world, and finding out if the guy she likes is actually her boyfriend. Things that are pretty typical in the world of Mythos Academy. But things are getting a little crazy with Gwen. She is starting to hear voices of past enemies who are either dead or locked up. Also she comes in contact with an old friend that she ends up sneaking onto the school property. Then she ends up getting in a fight with Logan, the guy she likes and they end up not talking to each other. He pretty much avoids her afterwards. Honestly, I think he is being a little childish. I think it's best that Gwen told him about what she saw instead of holding it in. Also what could be so bad that he doesn't want people to know that reapers killed his mother and sister? Unless it was his father that did it. I guess I have to continue to reading to find out if my hunch is right.

So until next time.....
