A discovery of Witches

First impression of this book is that it's a big book with small writing. I don't even know what it is about because I didn't read the little writing that gives you a hint. I'm kind of scared to even try to read this. I'm not scared like I think its going to be a bad book. I'm scared because I don't think I'll be able to finish it in a timely fashion. This book is almost seven hundred pages. I know I read books bigger then this, but that is from authors I knew who they were. I haven't heard of this one yet. I'm still going through my list of books from when I first signed up on Goodreads. This is very intimidating. Wish me luck Bookies.

Sorry for not posting as of late. I had to pry my computer from my brother's hands. He has a serious computer addiction. Also I'm currently in Chicago to see my favorite Kpop band. The baby sis picked everything that we experienced today that was related to me not being able to read. I was able to squeeze in like ten pages though. Anyways, We'll get to that after I tell you a little bit about the book. I figured that I won't do this the traditional way only because the book is so big and it is going to take me forever to read it. Anyways, the book is about a witch who doesn't want to associate herself as a witch. And I guess the book would be about a witch since the cover does saying that we are discovering witches. But that is besides the point. Anyways, she comes across a mysterious book that has a bit of a mystery behind it. Its like every supernatural creature that exists wants this book. Apparently the story is that this book has the answer to everything about the supernatural world. Like where everything began. Only problem is there is a pretty powerful spell on it that makes the book's true nature impossible to read. Wonder how that is going to play out. Anyways, at least our leading witch has an unlikely ally on her side. Do I sense a possible forbidden romance coming?

Yes, I'm back to reading this huge thing. I actually got it back sooner then I thought. I thought it would take longer. To tell the truth I was kind of hoping that it had. This is just a sad reminder that I don't really care for the book. My thoughts are pretty much on the fact that there is nothing going on except for the forbidden romance between a vampire and witch. Also there is the mystery on what actually happened to our leading lady's parents, but it doesn't really focus on her finding out. The main focus is on the romance that is going on and maybe a little too much. Yes the book is good. Yes it is a romance and I'm a sucker for romances. But I need more action than that. Lets hope it all picks up soon or I'm officially calling quits on this book. Even though I really don't want to. Fingers crossed that something exciting finally happens.

I really hate to say that I'm no longer reading A Discovery of Witches. Okay. I admit, I'm not sad to see this book go back. In fact I'm kind of happy. I hate this book with a passion. Its boring to me. Nothing exciting happens at all in the first third portion of the book. I don't like books like that. I want the action with a good romance. Not a whole chapter on what they had for dinner and talking about the good old days. Trust me there are like four of those kinds of chapters. In other words, I don't like this book. But don't have my opinion stop you from reading it. Someone had to think it was good or it wouldn't be on bookshelves. Right? So check out the book, maybe you would think its the best book ever. But I don't. So I'm going on to the next one. I really wanted to finish this book and see what happened to her parents. But I can't if I keep falling asleep every time I read. Maybe one of you can find out and tell me all about it.
