Started reading A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sara J. Maas

Hey there Bookies,

I've actually started this book a few weeks ago, but due to me moving I didn't get too far. Feyre is playing double agent and it's a bit difficult for her. She has to pretend to love Tamlin even though he had shown his true colors in the previous book. Lucien is sadly a pawn in her operation to destroy the enemy from the inside out. I'm still curious on how she is going to do this, but I know that I have to read more to find out. I just started reading this book and I'm only a few chapters in. Like I want to read instead of writing this post for you guys. I'm that hooked. I also want the two mates to finally reunite and be happy but there is a huge roller coaster coming up because there are like four more books in the series and only one of those four has been released. That actually makes me a little sad. Now I don't want to finish the book as fast anymore.

So until next time...

Manga Post #17

Hey there Bookies,

I know it's been a while and that is because a lot happens during the holidays. Which I hope you all enjoyed yours and are ready for the new year to roll in. My goal is just to finish the number of books I wanted to finish by the end of the year. Not sure what I should aim for the new year. Should I try a hundred books? Probably not with the busy schedule I have. Anyways, lets get to the reason you all are reading this.

I took a break from watching the anime so I could play catch up with the manga, but it didn't quiet work out that way. I just went back to watching the anime and I'm currently in a filler area in the series. So while things are pretty boring, I decided to read the mangas. Us that time to catch up. Or, at least try to. It would be easier if I had the whole series in my hands that way I wouldn't waste time waiting for the next volume. Anyways, the battle in the manga is still underway. It had just started in the previous volume and Sanji was able to show off some of his skills in this volume. Sadly it just seemed so much shorter reading it then seeing it in action in the anime. I was a little disappointed. Does that mean that Luffy's battle is going to be the whole next volume? I guess the only way to find out is to read it. Right? Anyways, I still enjoy the series greatly. Whether it is in manga form or in the anime. I can see why is the longest running so far and the most popular. The author/artist really put a lot of thought into the series and did a good job on the different characters. It will be a sad day when I finally finish the series in both manga form and anime. But I'm still curious on how the author/artist is going to make this all end.

I really enjoy Naruto as an anime and I do enjoy it as a manga series. I almost forgot where I left off and a good browse through the pages reminded me right away. Naruto and his friends are on there way to bring Sasuke back to the village. They call it a rescue mission, but it really isn't when he left all on his own. If I remember correctly, in the last volume we got to see both Choji and Neji fight. They both won their fights by literally putting their lives on the line. Now Shikamaru and Kiba must put their lives on the line as Naruto runs off to save Sasuke. I already know how this is all going to end, but it doesn't hurt to keep reading and sticking to the story line. Even if we all know that Sasuke is still going to get away. I don't know if Kiba is finished with his battle but it looks like Shikamaru's is pretty much done, but I won't know until I get the next volume on my hands. So far things are as intense I remembered seeing in the anime, but for some reason just reading it makes it more intense. Even though I know the outcome, it is still a pretty good read.

If I remember correctly, there is only on more volume after this one. I feel like this series went a little too quick. Sure I don't remember half of the stuff I read, but I still liked it. I can't remember what happened in the last volume but we are about to start the operation The One-Eyed Owl. Things are about to get interesting as the investigators begin to prepare. The ghouls at the cafe run off to hide or prepare to sacrifice themselves to keep everyone else safe. The battle begins and things start to get intense. Kaneki runs off to help even though his friends tried to make him change his mind. I swear, this kid is going to end up dead in the end, I just know it. But I could always end up being wrong. It is getting to the point that I don't want to put the book down. Things are going so quick that I didn't even realize that I made it to the end of the volume. I wonder if the anime leaves you on the edge of your seat like the manga. I should go back to watching that since I didn't even make it past the second or third episode. Oops. Anyways, I highly enjoy the series even though there are a few points where it is pretty slow. But when it gets to the interesting and fast action parts, you can't stop reading. This whole thing is just a roller coaster and I'm kind of eager to read the next volume.

So until next time.....

Reread: Red Queen

Hello Bookies,

I know this is probably going to be a quick read since I have already read the book. The only reason why I'm rereading it is because when I got Glass Sword, I was a bit confused on all that happened in the first book. Note to self, don't wait so long to get the next book in a series. All I remember is that there is two kinds of people that live two very different lives. The Reds are the people who bleed red blood and they live a poor life and are in constant fear of the silver bloods. Only because the silver bloods have special powers that make them very different. Also while the red bloods are working all hours of the day to make the silver bloods' lives easier, the silver bloods live as if they are kings and queens. Well at least until one day when a red blood ends up having powers as well and has to pretend to be one of them. And a whole lot happens that I can't remember but is really important to the second story, so I have to read everything all over again. This might be my only post on the book, but we will just have to see.

So until next time....

Almost done reading Crown of Midnight

Hey there Bookies,

It's been a while since I posted last. Only because this book took me a while to read. But I'm finally almost done and so far I'm not loving the series. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I'm just strongly in the middle. Maybe slightly leaning towards the hate side of the spectrum. Let me explain myself. This is the book that makes me wonder why the main character is stupid and maybe a little self centered. Yes, she admits it herself but it still doesn't fix the fact that I knew the answers to a part of the riddle before she even did. Then there is the whole thing that she hates Choal because he didn't tell her that her friend's life was threatened, making her unable to protect her friend. That whole situation was a lose-lose situation, no matter how you look at it. I'll let you guys read that to see what I mean. But I feel like her hate towards Choal is a little over the top. She doesn't even let him explain himself, she just storms out of the room telling him to "get out". Choal isn't perfect either since he nearly forgets about his feelings towards Celaena the moment he learns where she actually came from. Only to find out that he was paranoid for no reason. Way to jump to conclusions. Dorian seems to be the only likable character right now. He is mature about being turned down by Celeana and moves aside so that his friend can be happy. He is standing against his father in some situations. The only thing that annoys me about him is that he constantly complains about having magic. I get that it could end his life, but instead of suppressing it, he should at least try to practice it while he is locked away in his room. Instead of going through books trying to figure out how it is possible that he has magic. I say to just go with it. Accept it. Anyways, the book had two moments where I couldn't put down the book. Only two. One is with the witch Baba Yellowlegs and Celaena trying to escape from her. The other is when she is trying to escape this creature that wonders the halls as it's out to kill her. And both of those moments are towards the end of the book. I've been told it gets better, but I'm not seeing it. I hate to admit it, but I'm not sure if I will actually be able to finish this series if it keeps going on like this. It is slowly going down hill in my opinion. But check it out. You might love it more than me.

So until next time...

Reading Crown of Midnight

Hey there Bookies,

So, I am only going to say that I like the characters to start this post off. I'm about a quarter of the way through the book and I can say that I haven't learned much that I didn't even realize that I read a quarter of the book. All I learned is that there is some humanoid creature walking around the castle, Celaena has to kill an old friend, and that is pretty much it. Beside the talking knocker, nothing exciting has happened. I'm still trying to figure out who the love interest is. Is it Choal or the crowned prince? I really hope it is Choal, I like him more. Not sure why, I just do. Anyways, I'm trying so hard to like this series, I really am. But so far I'm not loving it. Which is a disappointment because I'm reading the other series by this author called "A Court of Thorns and Roses" and that one is amazing. How can two series from the same author bring out two completely different reactions from me? I just don't get it. I'm not disliking the book because the characters are bad or the story line was poorly written. Those two things are pretty spot on, but it's just not gripping me into the story that much. The only way I can explain it is that the plot is a bit dry to me. If that makes sense. Something is just missing to me. I'm not sure what it is, but I love the characters and I love the mystery behind Celaena's past. But I feel like I need more somewhere, I just don't know where. Maybe if I read more, I can figure it out.

So until next time.....

Started reading Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Hello Bookies,

I have started reading book two of the Throne of Glass series. We all know that I wasn't too impressed with the first book, but I've been told that it gets better. I'm giving the series the benefit of the doubt because so many have talked about it. The way this book starts will probably be confusing if you didn't read the first book. Or, at least that is how I feel towards the start of this book. She's on a mission for the king already, but you don't learn to much. You actually don't learn a lot about what happened since the moment she signed the contract to the exact moment the book starts. I'm still not too sure who the love interest is since things I guess got pretty hot and heavy between the leading lady and the crowned prince. But this time she is just brushing him off and sharing tender moments with Choal. Even the king is using the Captain of the Guard to keep her in line by threatening to kill him. I didn't like this king to begin with and I already know that he is going to be the big villain through out the whole entire series. Unless there is a huge twist that I don't know about. But I'm going to learn more about the book. Because there is only one way to live the adventure it holds and that is to read it.

So until next time...

Finished reading A Court of Mist and Fury

Hello my fellow Bookies,

I was going to do this post when I was almost done reading the book, but then I got drawn into a really good part and I actually finished the book. Things just get crazy in the book and so many things happen that I can't tell you unless I want to ruin the book for those that have not read it yet. If I told you it would ruin all of the surprises that this book holds, especially when a few of them involve the High Lord of the Night Court. The ending wasn't what I expected and ended in a bit of a cliff hanger. Nothing like Feyre using her old connections to get information on the enemy. Rhys is a little hurt by it, but I'm sure he knows that there really weren't any options. Now I'm just dying to read the next book to see what it has to hold and I wonder if our two lovers will ever be reunited. Who those lovers are, I will not say because it will just ruin the whole adventure of the book. But got read the series. You won't be disappointed and I'm highly enjoying all of the books I have read so far. Even thought I've only read like two so far.

So until next time....

Reading A Court of Mist and Fury

Hey there Bookies,

It's been a while since I made a post and I'm sorry about that. Been working three jobs, so it's not easy to squeeze in reading as much as I would like. But I am finally halfway through the book, and I have no idea what I have already told you about the book. So please forgive me if I say something that I have already said.

The book starts off with Feyre struggling with what she had done in order to save her lover and his people. All the while planning a wedding and doing things that the lady of the court is supposed to do. Only problem is is that she isn't happy. She feels like she should be doing something to help out instead of wearing dresses and planning parties. Too bad her lover doesn't think so because he thinks he is keeping her safe. Unknowingly suffocating her. Then on her wedding day Rhys comes to claim his part of the bargain by crashing the wedding and taking her away. Feyre is terrified at first, but once she gets to the Night Court, she realizes that it's not that bad. But it's shared with her that war is coming during one of her visits and she shares her concerns with Tamlin. Only to be brushed off because he is going to keep her safe, so she has nothing to worry about. This doesn't sit well with our leading lady. So one day she tries to go with Tamlin to deal with some mess that has taken place in his court only to have him lock her in the manor. Now my thought here is that he knew she had this issue of being locked up due to her time Under the Mountain, yet he still places her in her deepest fear. So in her panic attack, Rhys' cousin Mor comes and takes her to the Night Court where Rhys can help calm Feyre down. She eventually does and decides she isn't going to go back, thinking it's for Tamlin's own good. Rhys then takes Feyre to his secret city where he actually lives and tells her she is free to stay all she wants. She then even agrees to join him in trying to prevent the war from happening. So after a few tests and nearly dying a few times, Feyre is charged with convincing her sisters to let them stay in their house while they try to contact the queens to get half of the book that controls the cauldron in order to prevent the war. Or, at least stop the evil king that wants to end all of human life. That is pretty much where I have stopped. Feyre convinced her sisters and she's trying to kill Rhys for some comment he made. If you ask me, I think she has some feelings for him but she is just denying them because of everything she has been through with Tamlin. Which makes this whole book like on big Kdrama. I love it. Maybe the whole series is going to be like one. The only way to find out is to continue reading, right?

So until next time....

Started reading A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Hello Bookies,

I'm reading the second book that comes after A Court of Thorns and Roses. I highly enjoyed the first book, so I'm really looking forward to reading this one. This time around it sounds like that she will not be saving the love of her life, but he will be saving her from her own demons. Or, at least that is what I am thinking because I have literally just started this book. I'm not sure what is all going to go down since she defeated the evil woman that controlled all of the kingdoms and freed everyone from her. Maybe the book is just her trying to get over the fact that she had to kill two innocent people in order to free everyone. That she has to defeat her demons in order to be truly happy. Who knows, other than those that have already read the series. No spoilers as I try to solve the questions I have formed in my mind the moment I got my hands on this book.

So until next time...

Finished reading Intensity

Hey there Bookies,

Today is a sad day because the Chronicles of Nick have come to an end. Or, at least as far as I know. But it had to happen eventually. Anyways, things got pretty crazy as Nick tried to fix thing and then got captured somewhere. He never learned who the mother of his son was but he did learn that he can make sure his son doesn't end up the way he did. Nick also decided that he had to reset everything and just live life the way it was supposed to, making things play out like they do in the Dark Hunter series. Which is probably best. It would have been nice to see this series continue on the way that it was, but I guess we all can't have everything. Either way I highly enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone who asks. So go check out the series. Fall in love with the characters as much as I have. You will not be disappointed.

So until next time...

Started reading Intensity by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Hello there Bookies,

I can't believe I have come to the end of the series. But If I had to be honest here, I hope that there is more because I just love how Sherrilyn created Nick for this series. He is just so lovable. I think he was lovable in the Dark Hunter series, but it's been a while since I read any of those books, so I can't really remember. The think I really like about this series is that it is a spin off the Dark Hunter Series, but it's like an alternate universe of where Nick knew everything before he got in the mess of losing his mother and his friendship with the leader of the Dark Hunters. It just makes you wonder what different outcome this would make later on if the series was to continue. But I guess we will never know.

So until next time...

Manga post #16

Hey there Bookies,

I finally have all of the manga books I want to read in my hands all at once. It's the three we have been working on for the past few posts, so I don't think I need to waste anyone's time by describing the series.

The mission to save Sasuke is still underway. Choji has beaten his opponent but we aren't sure if he survived or not. The volume focuses more on Neji's battle with an enemy that really reminds me of a spider. The battle is tough, and Neji has a few close calls but he ends up winning in the end. Sadly he is so beat up that he just might die in the end. I hope not and I'm pretty sure that he won't. Only because I do believe he dies later on in the series. People just had to ruin it for me. Anyways, these mangas are pretty good quick reads and I just breeze right through them. I hate to say it but they are far more entertaining that the actually anime series. But probably because I can just play the show in my head any way I want. But I can't help but feel that I'm coming to the end of the series. I know there is so much more coming up, but I might be slowly moving into the next stage when they are a little bit older and still looking for Sasuke. I guess the only way to find out is to keep reading.

I got lucky and was able to get three One Piece volumes in one. Kind of convenient when I'm trying to do catch up with this series. I stopped watching the anime just so I could catch up with the manga series and compare. Anyways, the battle against Captain Kuro and his crew has begun. Usopp is going to try everything he can to protect his village. It's all pretty much just review for me right now and it gets a little boring. We all know that the battle is pretty intense. Zoro/Zolo gets his swords taken away by two brothers, but he overcomes the challenge and wins. If I remember correctly. Luffy goes against Captain Kuro and that battle is pretty good. But we finally get to meet Sanji, the next member to join the crew. He is also probably my third favorite character after Zoro/Zolo and Luffy. I do love this series and I love all the recaps I'm getting by reading the manga. Pretty soon, I will be reading the new stuff and finally will be able to compare the two.

First I have to say that I just love the cover of this volume. I'm not sure why, but I find it beautiful. Also I'm a bit sad that I only have two more volumes to read after this one before the whole series comes to an end. Unless there are other volumes that I don't know about. If so, point me in the right direction. Also I don't really remember what happened in the last volume because it took me so long to get this one. It's not easy keeping books straight when you are reading so many. Anyways, Hinami is feeling like she should be helping Kaneki with whatever is on his mind, but everyone is telling her that she can't. Other than being there for him. The Gourmet is still after Kaneki, even if he is playing friendly. Honestly, I don't think he takes any sides other than his own. While they are trying to figure that out the CCG are trying to figure out things of their own. Like that fact that the company might not actually be built to do what the investigators thought it was for. Also some questions get answered. Like who the one eyed ghoul is or at least a little bit about it's background. There really isn't a whole lot I can tell you due to the fact that it would just ruin the series. I suggest you go check out the series if you have not yet. I can say that so far, I'm not too disappointed.

So until next time...

Reding A Game of Thrones

Hey there Bookies,

I really hate to say it but I have to return this book. The time for me to have it in my hands has come to an end. But I'll be sure to request it once again. Right now I hardly made a dent in the book and trust me, I'm trying. There is no way I can finish this book in the time span that I was given. So it is best that I return it to the library and just request it once again. That way I will have more time to read the book. But I will probably only get this book on it's own due to the fact that it's so huge. I just got to the hundreds for the page numbers and it took me like a week to get that far. The writing is small and there is just so much to take in that you have to read it slowly just to absorb all of it. So far the book is following what the the TV series has done. A little bit of differences but it's been so long since I watched the series, I can't remember exactly what the differences are. But I will be sure to request this book once again, but until then I will have to return it and pick up the other books I have at the library.

So until next time....

Started reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

Hello there Bookies,

I have started a new book and it's the book that has inspired the hit series aired on either HBO or Showtime. This book has been waiting patiently for me to read it on my hold list and I finally got it from the library. If you want to know how long it has been waiting, I placed this book on hold before the series even started. It was that long of a wait, along with the fact that I was busy reading other series. But I finally have it and from what I've heard the TV series follows the first book and that is pretty much it.  Anyways, I have ten days to read this book, so let's hope that it can keep my attention so I can finish it on time. Wish me luck everyone.

So until next time...

Done reading Invision

Hello there Bookies,

I'm just flying through this book and I'm getting close to the end. A lot of confusing things happen that make me feel as dumb as Nick and I hope the more I read, the more it makes sense. A lot of information gets thrown into the storyline and apparently, there is a new evil that becomes the destroyer of the world. Meaning Nick is not the bad guy anymore. I'm not going to get into that crazy mess of confusion. Feel free to read all about it if you want. But eventually, they find out what could possibly be draining his powers and find out that it already been taken care of. They find some of the missing friends. Everything seems right as rain, but the epilogue of this book have you begging for the next book. Which I will be requesting as soon as I can. But I loved the book as always. Sherrilyn Kenyon is still probably one of my favorite authors out there. None of her books have disappointed me yet and I've read a lot of them. Anyways, go check out her books and this series if you have not yet. She is an amazing writer that deserves all of the support she gets.

So until next time...

Reading Invision

Hey there Bookies,

I'm about halfway through the book already and a whole lot has happened in that small amount of time. Something is stealing Nick's friends and his powers. Not sure who or how, but I keep reading just to find out. It feels like, with every book that I read in this series, things just get worse for Nick. I would hate to see what the next book holds if the last one almost killed or trapped him for all of eternity. And this book has his powers drained to the point he can die or be enslaved easily. I don't think my heart can take all of this intense situations the characters are put through. I wish I could say more but there really isn't much to say. I know I said a lot has happened, but once you start describing the book, you realize nothing really has gone down. But for some reason, I just really love these books. I think its just because Sherrilyn Kenyon made the characters so relatable and likable.

So until next time...

Started reading Invision by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Hello Bookies,

Would you believe me when I say that I remember nothing about the book before this one? But it's been a while since I read the series and I know that all of these books can pretty much stand on their own with a little bit of confusion. It's all still liveable in the end. Anyways, the book starts with Nick pretty much giving up and eating his sorrows away. Completely understandable when you learn that you will be the destruction for everything you know and kills everything you have ever loved. I would probably do the same thing. Then Nick runs off only to learn that one of his friends is still trapped in the hell realm that they were in during the last book. Nick being the good loyal friend that he is, decides that he has to go back and save them. Anyways, I will have to say that Sherrilyn Kenyon is still probably one of my favorite writers and I just love every character that she has created. I just feel so bad that it has taken me to go back to reading her books. Nick is one of the top faves.

So until next time...

Finished reading Throne of Glass

Hey there Bookies,

Last night I finished the Throne of Glass and I have to be honest here, I'm a little disappointed. The only time the book actually got really interesting is when Celeana was dueling Cain. That was it. I'm kind of hoping the next book will be better, but I'm not having my expectation high for this series. I do like how the lead female character is in the book and I'm hoping she ends up with the Captain of the Gaurd and not the crown prince who annoys me, but that isn't how this is going to go. I just know it. It's like watching a drama and you love the second lead and hope the female lead ends up with him. Even though you know that the female lead is going to end up with the lead male. Choal is probably my most favorite character in the whole book and seems to have the most growth. I wish I could say more about this book, but it feels like nothing really happens. Nothing exciting. Once again I'm disappointed with this book. I expected to be what others were telling me about the book. I was looking for that "can't put it down" moment. But it actually didn't happen. Well, it did happen when I had like ten pages left and I had to put the book down to do things. But that was just because I was so close to finishing the book and just wanted to finish it. Other than that, nothing. But check it out and maybe will you will like it more than me, or maybe you will hate it. I can't say I hated it or love it. I'm probably some of the few that are kind of still on the fence for this book.

So until next time...

Reading Throne of Glass part 2

Hey there Bookies,

I have sixteen days to finish three books and I'm not sure I can do it, but I'm willing to try. So far I am halfway through the Throne of Glass, so I'm making good time.

I'm not sure where I left off when my last update on this book but I can say that the competition has started. I can't see how people don't like the lead female character. Sure she can be a lot to handle, but who isn't? There is a female character in the book that I can't stand and I'm thinking that people are mistaking our lead female character for her. Anyways, the champions have started their tests but also something is killing them in between tests. Our lead female is curious about who or what could be doing such a thing. Especially after she finds a secret passage in her room that leads her to freedom and the tombs of the first king. This is probably where things finally get interesting. It took half of the book but we are finally there. And I'm just reading more to see who or what is killing the champions. Our leading female thinks that it's some kind of ritual sacrifice for something. But she can't know for sure because the symbols being used have no books on them since they were all burned when the new king came into power. Honestly not a smart move on his part. But sadly so far that is the only excitement I have going on in this book. I'm a little disappointed.

So until next time...

Reading Throne of Glass

Hey there Bookies,

Sorry, it is taking me so long to read this book. I'm not even a quarter of the way through this book. But that is only because it's been a bit slow. I haven't had any of those moments where I have to drop everything and just read the book. And, I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. Everyone was just telling me how great the book is from the start, but honestly it just kind of drags on so far. Hopefully, it will pick up soon. Anyways, I did read some reviews on the book and they were pretty mixed. Most of them were of how much they hated the main female character and how it ruined the whole book. As I was reading those reviews I couldn't help but think, do you blame her for being the way she was? If you pay close attention to the little details that hints at her past you learn that she was chased out of her home, almost killed, saved by an assassin that raised her to be the best, captured and beaten, then used to participate in a fight to the death competition. This girl's main focus is to escape and just hide away to live in peace. She doesn't want to be constantly on guard. So I can see why she would have the attitude that she has. It's a defense mechanism. Keep people at arm's length so that way they can't hurt or try to kill her because of what she is. Small details are what you have to pay attention to in this book and not the bigger picture or you are going to hate the book. Or, at least that is my opinion.

So until next time...

Reading manga Naruto Vol. 21

Hello Bookies,

I really can't believe that I'm already on the 21st volume of this series. It feels like I just started it a few months ago. Sorry, it took a while for me to get my hands on it. Work is crazy busy along with my personal life. Also due to being busy for some long, I kind of forgot what went on in the last volume. But this one is where things get interesting because this is where I didn't watch the anime version as much. Only bits and pieces. So the review is now mostly finished and scenes that I didn't get to see can finally play out in my head. Right away we start off with Sasuke leaving the village to join forces with the enemy in order to become strong enough to defeat his old brother. If I have a say, people with revenge on the agenda, shouldn't become a ninja. Just saying, even if it doesn't matter. Anyways, a mission to stop Sasuke and bring him back to the village is underway. There are obstacles that they have to face but they get out of it and Choji fights a battle to prove himself. Sadly we don't know the outcome of the battle because the volume ends right when he gives the final blow if it was the final blow. I guess I just have to get the next volume in order to figure out all that happened and also to see who is next to battle and prove themselves.

So until next time......

Started reading Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Hello Bookies,

Since I have to wait for the Red Queen to come in. I figured I would just read my other library books. I have already read a book by this author and I loved it. So I have high expectations about this book. Also a guest at work highly recommended it to me and wouldn't stop bugging me until I got my hands on the book. Telling me that I won't regret reading the book. He even told me to not even request the book from the library and to just buy the whole series. But since my book allowance got taken away due to the huge stack of books I have at home and in storage, I requested the book. But I have high expectations because I haven't heard anything other then good things. I'll be really sad if it doesn't turn out as good as everyone has made it seem to be.

So until next time....

Reading Glass Sword

Hey there Bookies,

This book is probably taking me longer than it should because I'm just confused on all that had happened in the last book because I can't remember. I get little bits and pieces but it's all not getting together. So I will have to do the one thing that I hate doing. I have to return the book and request the first one from the library. I know I own the book, but I don't feel like digging through boxes in a spider infested storage, so I will just get it from the library. Sorry about that Bookies, but I don't think I can actually enjoy this book unless I know fully well what is going on in the book. Thanks for understanding.

So until next time.....

Started reading Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

I don't remember anything from the first book. It's been a while since I read it. Then I had to sit for like ten minutes trying to remember if I owned the first book so I can skim through it to refresh my memory. Then I thought the book would give me a least a small recap on what happened, and the first page is hinting to me that it is not going to remind me of what happened. So I will read this lovely book completely confused. I just know it. But I guess the only way to know for sure is to read the book. Wish me luck, Bookies.

So until next time.....

Finsihed reading A Court of Thorns and Roses

I actually finished the book. Like, I couldn't put it down unless I had to. It's been a while since I had a book like that. It was really nice. I will be sure to request the next book as soon as possible. But this one seems like it concluded really well. Like I wouldn't even know that it was a part of a series if I didn't know ahead of time. Anyways, I am not sure what to say. So much happens in the book. Also, it kind of gives me that Beauty and the Beast feel toward the storyline. Except for a beast, it's a high fae that doesn't really hold her captive, but she is safe as long as she stays close to his house. At first, she goes by the legends and the stories she was told about the faeries and the high fae that she was told. But eventually, she finds out that none of it is true. Well, most of it is at least. The whole time I know that she is supposed to fall in love with the high lord but I wasn't sure how she did. Even after finishing the book, I wasn't so sure either. But she did and he fell in love with her. Then we have an evil high fae who was jealous, tries to kill our leading female multiple times, but in the end, love wins and everyone is free and happy. Well except our leading lady because of what she had to do in order to be free. I wish I could tell you guys everything that happened in this book, but that would give away the amazing adventure that the book holds. Go check it out. You won't regret it.

So until next time.....

Started reading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Hey there Bookies,

Since I shelved Changeling, I had to start a new book. I figured I would get the ones that I've been dying to read but couldn't because they were so far down on my To-Be-Read list.

This book is something I've been trying to get my hands on since it first came out. The wait list was ridiculous and my mom always made me put it back on the shelf when we were at the bookstore. But now I finally have it and I can finally read it. I've heard so many good things about this series that it just had me dying to see what the hype is all about. I just started the book and I'm already on page fifteen. I'm sure I would be farther if I didn't have all of the interruptions going on at home. I'm pretty sure that I would have the book done if I actually lived alone. But then no one would see me if I lived alone because I would be too lost in my books. Especially this one. All I can say right now is that it is looking up for this book. High expectations.

So until next time...

Reading Changeling

Why is it taking me so long to read this book? I've had it over a month and I'm not even halfway. I just might have to shelf this book for the time being and probably go back to it in another two years because that is usually what happens when I shelf a book. I really don't want to but I just might have to. It's so annoying. I should just give up reading for the time being. So far I haven't found any books that really have caught my interest. It's annoying. But if I forget to go back to this book at a later date, please remind me to do so. I would really hate to not finish this series since I'm almost done now. I think I have like three more books after this one. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's not something against the author or the story line. I'm just starting to think I'm too old to be reading this series. I feel bad for having to do this a second time, but it can't be helped. Either way, check out the series for me while I'm away from it. Maybe even share your thoughts one the book with me, without giving anything away of course.

So until next time.....

Started reading Changeling by Cate Tierman

Hello Bookies,

I'm on the last book that I got from the library recently. I didn't waste any time reading these books. I made sure to get them done in a timely matter because I don't want to be sitting around, holding the book, and thinking "what happened in the last book?"

Not a whole lot happened in the last book that I read in this series. Or, a whole lot happened and it just wasn't interesting enough for me to remember it. Either scenario is possible.  I know these books are meant for young teens or like really young adults, but I'm the type of person who doesn't discriminate books just because they are targeted for a certain age. Also, I did start this series when I was one of those young teens that were just getting into reading. So back then, I thought these were the greatest books I could find. Something my adult mind can't really comprehend anymore. So don't let my reviews hold you back from reading this series. It's actually a good series, especially if you are just starting out. I'm not sure what this book is about because I never read the descriptions. But I know it has to play off the fact that she just found out who her birth father really is. Things are getting pretty interesting.

So until next time...

Manga post #15

Hello Bookies,

After a long wait and me taking forever to read Asa - Also a family vacation taking most of my valuable reading time - I finally have my hands on my library books that made end up in an endless cycle of requesting and having the holds expire and then requesting the books once again. How I missed my mangas and writing about them. So, why don't we just dive into the reading them? That is if I can remember what is going on.

I could have sworn that I was a lot farther than volume three in this series. Maybe it's because I am so far in the anime series. Anyways, I'm at the first big battle between Luffy and Captian Buggy. I can't remember if they battle later on, or Captian Buggy tries to battle Luffy but fails miserably. Anyways, the better concludes and Buggy was sent flying on his way. Allowing our small crew of three to head off to the seas to continue on their journey. I'm pretty the anime got a little out of order at this point once again because I'm sure they had Usopp before they went to the island with the weird animals in the anime. But the manga has them go to the island before meeting Usopp. It just makes me feel that someone didn't do their homework before making the anime. But at least I get to relive the whole fight against the pirate that pretended to be a butler for three years. I can't remember his name or what the crew was called. I think they were like the cat pirates or something like that. Shows how much I pay attention to details. But it's still a pretty good story on how Luffy gets the next crewmate. I just love their backstories and how they came to be. But I know I have a long ways to go in order to catch up with everyone else that has been following the series since the beginning.

I really need to figure out how far I am in the anime series for this manga. So far it is all still review. Of course, I spent most of the time reading to remind myself of what happened in the last volume. Didn't take that long though. Naruto was able to get the fifth Hokage. Sasuke has been healed but he feels worthless and is taking it out on pretty much everyone. Lee gets some bad news and he has to decide what he is going to do. Can't help but feel bad for him. Anyways, after getting a lecture, Sasuke gets attacked by some of Orochimaru's pawns. All in the plan to make him feel even weaker and have him go running for more power. Poor guy. But it's a pretty slow volume for the meantime. The only action you get is Naruto and Sasuke get into a fight because Sasuke needs to know that he is still better than Naruto. So far there has only been catching up for me, so everything is just boring because I've seen it in the anime and read the manga to a point. I just have to figure out where that point was. But for those who haven't seen the anime or read the manga, feel free to give the series the love it deserves. I know I'm considered to be pretty far, but I know I'm not even close to the end. This is a journey I'm willing to take.

Another manga that I really need to remember what happened in the last volume. It's been so long since I read it and I can't let that happen again. But I have my hands on volume 11 for Tokyo Ghoul and I have a feeling I'll be reading it, trying to remember all that happened. I think they found where the doctor was hiding in the last volume and now it's one big epic battle of them fighting all of his creations. Or, something like that. Also during this battle I don't even know where our main character is in all of the mess. But eventually the mess ends and Kaneki is found. Everyone flees the scene, leaving more questions than answers. The doctor goes back to hiding while his property get investigated. And, our leading character goes back to live a somewhat normal life. But even though things are quiet now, it appears that it won't be boring. Of course, that is where the volume cuts off. Saying,  "to be continued in Vol. 12". You can just imagine my reaction when I saw that because of how this volume ended.

I guess it's time for me to make a request to get the next volume of all of these mangas.

So until next time.....

Started reading The Bookshop of Yesterdays by Amy Meyerson

Hello there Bookies,

The Bookshop of Yesterdays actually comes out in a few days on June 12th, 2018, and I feel a little bad that I'm just now reading the book. I won an advanced reader's copy in a contest on Goodreads.com and I have to admit that the book caught my interest because there are books on the cover and the title has the word bookshop. I know nothing about the book and I have no idea what it is about. So you can say that I judged a book by it's cover. Anyways, I've only read two pages. So far the book has only told me about a dog a little girl got for her birthday from her uncle before he died. Well didn't outright say he died but pretty much implied it. Also mentioned the dog suddenly being gone one day, implying that the mother got rid of it because she didn't want a dog. Terrible thing to do, but I know it happens in the real world. Kind of makes me want to say, "don't want the dog? Give me the dog." Anyways, I don't have much to say right now. Just thought I would let you guys know that the book comes out soon and to check it out when it does.

So until next time.....

Almost done reading Asa

Hello Bookies,

After hours of Japanese lessons and reviewing dramas, I have finally come close to the end of this book. It took me a while because I was trying to squeeze it in between everything. It's not easy when I made myself so busy. I even put off making my videos so I can get this book done. You are very welcomed.

I'm about 80% through the book and things have been pretty easy going. Not a whole lot going on. Royal still trying to get over her trama at work. Asa still thinks he isn't good enough for anything good in his life. Then there is the whole sex scenes that I'm sure some of you love. Also everything seems to be going just swell. But we all know that all of the good stuff happens in the last 20% of the book. Which I'm not there yet. So you will have to read the book in order to see what it holds for the drama. What will put these two to the test of their relationship? Will it tear them apart forever? Or, will they overcome it and be happy forever? I guess I will have to read to find out along with you guys. Those that have read it, don't spoil it for the rest of us. Okay? But I'm going to go finish this book because I have a whole new stack to go through from the library. Also, I have a few books that were just sent to me that I need to check out for some authors.

So until next time......

A little update

Hey there Bookies,

I just started a blog with my mom where we talk about dramas that we watch either together or on our own. The blog is called Robison Drama Talk. You can find it by typing Robisondramatalk.blogspot.com in your browser. Not much to look at since we just started, but be sure to check it out. I'll probably keep up to date with that blog more than with this one since it's the dramas keeping me away from my reading.

So until next time...

Reading Asa

Hey there Bookies,

I really need to stop watching the Kdramas and get back to reading books again. But I have a new actor crush and I had to watch all of the shows he was in. Crushing so hard.

So Asa is the last installment of the Marked Men Series. Sad I know. I'm still a little lost since I waited so long to read this book. Not my fault by the way. There are just so many books to read. Anyways, nothing much has happened. I don't expect a lot to happen either when I'm only a quarter of the way through the book. Asa and Royal are in this little game of chase, well at least Royal is. Asa wants to but he thinks that he messed up too much to have a shot with her. Typical tortured soul in need of a new home. Just like every book in this series. But it still makes for a good book. Anyways, I wish I could write more, but I can't. I'm not far enough in the book to really say anything. I just wanted to make a post so you guys know that I'm still alive.

So until next time.....

Almost done reading The Calling

Hello Bookies,

I'm just a few pages short of finishing the book and now I know why I didn't finish the series way back when. Nothing really happens in the book really. Sure our main character finds the place where her birth parents lived. She even finds her mother's most treasured watch there. Then she gets tricked into walking right through the enemies door. Not smart of the girl to do. Anyways, she almost dies and almost gets her boyfriend killed. Only thing is that the leader of the enemy finds something that makes him stop what he is doing. Creating all the time Hunter needed to save the day. But our leading lady has a bit of a shock to her already complicated life. Turns out one of her birth parents weren't isn't who she thought they were. You must read the book to find out everything. Or, just go on Goodreads and read the description of the book. It's a big giveaway. But I'm going to head out for now. I'm not a fan of the book. Not a whole lot happens and it is kind of boring. But check it out if you want. It's still an interesting topic for the book to be based on. Not a whole lot of books out there about witches.

So until next time.....

Started reading Asa by Jay Crownover

Hello Bookies,

I didn't actually start this book since I'm still finishing up The Calling. But I thought I would let you guys know what the next book I'll be reading is going to be. This book is the last installment of the Marked Men Series and has been out for a while. I have been meaning to finish the series, but if I had to be honest, I kind of forgot all about it. I know I had to wait for the book to come out, but that was like two or three years ago. I guess out of all of the waiting, things came up and I forgot all about it. Luckily I went through my old reading list that I found and saw it on the list. So I requested it from the library and here it is. I'm not sure who we are focusing on here since it's been so long since I read the series. But I do know that Jay Crownover writes some pretty good books. Why don't you guys give me a list of her books to check out and I'll try to get to them as soon as I can. I feel like it just isn't fair to read only one series by her.

So until next time...

Reading The Calling

Hello Bookies,

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I am taking a lot longer than I thought I would with this book. Probably because I'm trying to remember the storyline. Also, I believe that I missed a book somewhere. Because Morgan, our leading lady, is dating Hunter, her evil ex-boyfriend's half-brother. I think. Anyways, I guess her ex-boyfriend wasn't evil because he ended up dying protecting her.  It still confuses me on when she started dating Hunter. So, I'm pretty sure I missed a book. Or, it's been so long and I just can't remember since it was like two or three years ago since I read the last book. I should really think about writing these things down. Anyways, I'm halfway through the book now or just about. They are all in New York hunting for something that focuses on Morgan's dream. Right now it's just them exploring and Hunter disappearing to figure things out. Morgan feels a little out of the loop because he is always taking his cousin Sky with him and really doesn't give you an update on what is going on. He is just being secretive. But she loves him and won't push for answers too much. I'm not sure how long they were dating but I have a feeling it hasn't been long. It's very rare to fall in love with someone in a short amount of time but this is a book. So things can be unrealistic. Anyways, nothing much has happened in the book and I'm sure it will pick up towards the end. They usually do. Might as well go back to reading and update when I can.

So until next time.......

Started reading The Calling by Cate Tiernan

Hello Bookies,

I finished my mangas and went to a series I started way back in high school. I stopped reading it for a very long time for a couple of reasons. The books were really hard to find in the library system and I also went to college. No time to read when you are there. Anyways, this is the seventh book in the series and I'm just now reviewing it. From what I can remember in the series is that our main character is related to some witches that were killed for some unknown reason. I'm sure it stated the reason, I just don't remember. Anyways, she meets this guy who is also a witch and they date for some time. The guy ends up being bad and tries to kill her for some reason I can't remember. Sadly there isn't much more I can remember. Sorry about that. It's been a while and I'm hoping reading this book will help jog my memory. I have a feeling this is going to be a quick read, but we will never know. The book is small enough but knowing my track record on reading normal books that aren't mangas, it might take me a few days. But I guess we will never know until I actually start reading. I'll let you guys know what goes on when I've read enough. I'm off to crack this book open and see what adventures I can uncover while I try to remember the one that I was already living while reading this series.

So until next time.....

Manga Post #14

Hello Bookies,

I don't know why it takes me so long to read an Ebook. I just got done with the first chapter yesterday. Maybe its because I'm on an electronic and I get distracted by all of the nice apps that call for my attention. So I'm putting the Ebook down because I made a nice trip to the library to pick up a new set of books. It is so nice to be back to reading my favorite mangas again. Especially now that I'm almost done with the first book of my Japanese lessons. It just makes me feel that much closer to one of my favorite countries out there. Anyways, let's get talking about the mangas I'm reading.

I'm actually farther in the catch-up game for the anime than I'm in the manga. I blame the fact that it takes me so long to read a normal book. But anyways I get to relieve the first battle with Captain Buggy. Also, read how Nami ended up joining the crew. Yes, the manga is a little different than the anime, but it is still good in my opinion. Mangas explain things so much more than what you see in the show. But I also know that this is still an ongoing series. Looks like I am going to have a lot of reading if I want to catch up with everyone else. Anyways, the volume starts off with Nami asking Luffy to join her. Also, she explains why the town is all empty, then tricks Luffy into capture so she can join Buggy's crew. Just like in the anime, things take a bad turn and Luffy almost gets killed. Zoro/Zolo saves the day right at the last second, almost dies himself. They escape for a bit. Luffy beats up someone because they destroyed a pet store. Must read the manga or watch the anime to find out why he did that. Then the real battle begins. It's actually kind of nice to relieve the tension all over again. I think that is why I like One Piece so much. No matter how many times I watch it or read it, I still get pretty entertained by it. Yes, the first few episodes are a little slow, but it's all necessary when you want to learn how the crew all got together. It also leaves out all of the confusion later on.

I'm a lot farther in this series than I thought. I'm only on volume 19 with many more still to come. I think there is like seventy-two volumes altogether. Anyways, it's been a while since I read the last volume. So just bare with me here. From what I remember and have seen in the anime, which I'm still trying to catch up on, is that lady Tsunade was given a choice. Help Orochimaru and get her loved ones back, or I can't remember what the other option was. Also, I do remember that she challenged Naruto to learn his new technique in a week. Something that should be impossible, but this is Naruto we are talking about. Anyways, that is all I can really remember.  But I do remember almost falling for Tsunade going for the deal, again. You would think that I would remember that after watching it like three or four times and reading it just as many times. Anyways, a battle breaks out and it is pretty intense. But Orochimaru admits defeat for now and runs off. That is basically the whole volume. It's just the battle against Orochimaru and Lady Tsunade finally accepting to become Hokage. But I still enjoyed it. Now I'm ready for the next volume.

Another manga that I haven't read in a while and can't remember what happened. I really need to stop doing that. Anyways, I'm slowly falling in love with Tokyo Ghoul. But, I do know that I'm in love with the live action film that came out for it. Yes, I'm going to keep bringing it up because, Bookies, you need to see it. Anyways, I looked up to see how many volumes were left for this series and I was kind of sad to see that I'm almost done. I only have four more after this one. I don't want to see it go. Is it too much to hope that the writer will make more? More, please? Anyways, things are just now getting interesting. Our ghoul investigators are currently looking into a case and I'm trying to figure out who this errand boy is. Is it Hide? But he knows about a lot that is going on and it just makes me want to know more about who he is. But with farther reading, I found out. Or, at least I think I did. Anyways, our leading character Kaneki is on the hunt for the doctor that made him into a ghoul and it's not going too well. Or, at least that is what is appearing while the investigators decide to investigate his life in order to find the ghoul they have been hunting for a while. Things are getting pretty intense here. I wonder how this is all going to turn out in the end. Battles break out and things get crazy. I'm loving every bit of it and then the volume ends with a cliffhanger. Which is kind of depressing. I want more but I guess I have to finish my other books before I get the next volume.

So until next time.....

Started reading A Beautiful Struggle by Lilliana Anderson

I have to be honest with you Bookies,

Half of the time, I don't even remember where I get this Ebooks. This one is an example of one. It's kind of sad really. I got a whole bunch of Ebooks and I don't read them, or know where they come from. I'm a horrible excuse for a reader. Anyways, I don't know what A Beautiful Struggle is about but knowing me, I have another romance on my hands. Or, computer. I've never read anything by this author before. I have never even heard of her. So, I know I'm in for a treat when I go into a book blind like this. It just makes it all the more exciting. But I'll head out for now and tell you guys what I think once I'm about halfway.

So until next time...

Done reading Beautiful Oblivion by Addison Moore

Hey there Bookies,

Things get interesting in this book. I only say that because our lead female character is still somewhat in denial of her relationship with her 'fake' boyfriend. But after he pulls a little stunt in front of a whole bunch of people that she didn't appreciate and a magical getaway with the man she loves, she decides enough is enough. That is where things get interesting. Her stepmother knows of the secret love affair she is having and tries to tell her to just accept what was set up for her. But our leading lady won't have any of it. She tries to break things off with her 'boyfriend' but he is so set on the future their parents had set up for them. Even to the point that he does something uncalled for that actually shows what kind of a jerk he really is. But everything all works out in the end and everyone is happy. Kind of makes me want to go check out the next book in this series. Anyways, I do recommend reading this book. It's good if you are all into the predictable romance get up of two friends who are in love with each other since the day they knew what love was. I did enjoy it and kind of wished that I finished it sooner. But go check out the book and give the author a lot of love. She kind of deserves it for pulling me into such a good book.

So until next time.....

Catch up time!!!

Imagine this Bookies,

I'm sitting at work. Just finished a book and ready for the next one. So I search my kindle app on my computer. Wait for it to load with the last book I read. Then the books loads to the farthest place that I left off at. Now guess what I saw when that happened. I had apparently stopped reading in the middle of a sex scene. Like the lead male character is about to get down and dirty with the lead female's lady parts in great detail. It's like opening my first webtoon and having a sex scene drawn out in detail on the screen while at work. Good thing about the book, my boss can't see what I'm actually reading in the cameras. Can't say the same for the webtoon though. Either way, still embarrassing and caught me off guard.
Anyways, it's back to reading Beautiful Oblivion. How long has it been since I read this book? A few weeks or months? Either way, this book I remember what it's about. It's summer and our lead female character is thinking this is her last chance to be with the guy she likes before she goes off to some college that is far away. Of course, she already has a boyfriend who fits the image that her family would like her to uphold even though she really likes this guy that was her best friend's brother and so on. They come up with a no strings attached deal. Both of them are completely unaware of each other's feelings for each other and think that this whole thing isn't going to work out. Also, she doesn't know that he is actually going to the same school as her when the summer is over. Then a whole lot of sex scenes happen apparently because I went back to reading one right in the middle. We all know that this is a very predictable story plot, but it still a good read. Anyways, things are getting pretty interesting and it is getting to point that the two main characters need to just suck it up and confess already. I really hope they do soon or that the lead female finally kicks her fake boyfriend to curb because he is kind of a creep. But I'm going to continue reading and I'll update you guys when I finish the book.

So until next time.......

I finished the rest of the book in one day

Hello, my fellow Bookies,

We all know that I was really struggling reading this book and I guess the only solution for me to actually finish the book is to forget all of my chargers at home and read. So no studying, no going on social networks, no dramas, no internet at all. Just spend eight hours reading. Yes, I did have to take breaks because sometimes it was too much. But the book is actually pretty good after you get through all of the avoiding and whiney parts. And I mean whiney as in "I'm broken and don't deserve happiness" because I do that and I hate to be reminded of it. This just makes me hate myself more and that is why I hate the characters. Especially Kayden. Damn you for having similar issues than me. Well, minus the abusive parents because my issues are from inheritance and not beat into me. But reading this book also made me realize that I do have some issues of my own that I need to work out so you can say that after the self-loathing this book put on me, it also taught me a little about myself. A good eye opener to those that do suffer mental health issues and helps those that don't suffer from them understand what we actually go through. Still gets three stars from me because like I said before, I have issues myself that I hate being reminded of. But go check out the series. They really do open up your eyes to things that may not be on the surface because it's something that society drives into us as bad. Or at least that is just how I feel about it. But now I'm going to play catch up on some books that I started to review but never finished because my list at the library is so long.

So until next time.....

Found my missing book

Hello Bookies,

Looks like I finally found my book and I don't like reading it. Why? You ask. Because the issues are very real to the point that you can't hate the characters for being stupid. They all have issues that need to be worked out but they are too scared to. I know that feeling a little too well and maybe that is why I am dragging my feet reading this book now that I got it back into my hands. It's reminding me of all of the issues I still need to work out but don't want to because I'm too scared to know how I will feel afterward. But it still doesn't stop me from being a hypocrite while reading this book and complaining that the characters need to get it together and grow up. That all of this avoiding and keeping quiet is really stupid and it makes me hate them. Yes, it's a good book but the focus on mental health issues hits a little too close to home for me. I might not continue reading just for that very reason. I will try to pull through but I'm not making any promises. This is all just too painful to read. Sorry Bookies, but the dragged out storyline and constant avoiding the truth is really getting on my nerves. Not my kind of book right now. I don't even remember the first book and just reading this book makes me not want to. I got nothing against the author. Like I said before her writing it hitting a little too close to home for my comfort. I'm just going to be like the characters in this book and avoid the feels that this book is creating in me. Basically reading this book just makes me hate myself more because I relate so much. But check it out guys and don't have my negative words hold you back from reading the books. You might actually like it more than me.

So until next time.......
