Started reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Hello Bookies,

I have to be honest here. I did try to read this book when it first came out and I feel bad that I didn't get farther than the first chapter. I'm hoping that giving this book a second chance will be the best decision I have made so far. If I remember correctly, this is like the futuristic version of Cinderella. I do love the fairy tales and the different versions of them. Meaning I have high expectations of this book. Keep your figures crossed if you are a fan of this book or series. There are a few books that I've read that I just couldn't finish and it makes me feel bad. But sometimes I just don't love them enough to finish reading them. It's more like pulling teeth is more entertaining than some books I've read. Lets hope this book isn't one of them. Okay maybe I don't have high expectations of this book. I don't even think I'll be finishing it. Now we just have to see if this book proves me right or lives up to my low expectations.

So until next time...

Manga Post #25

Hey there Bookies,

I can't believe that I only have twenty-five posts related to mangas. I feel like I've read so much more for so much longer. Anyways, if you are all familiar with these posts you are fully aware of the two series that I started and have not yet finished because there are so many books. I'm pretty sure once I finish Naruto, I will start reading Baruto. I think that is how you spell it. Anyways, I know its a long series and thank you for holding out on that long journey with me. Speaking of a long journey, one of the mangas I'm currently reading is still on going. I think there are like fifty volumes if not more to read. I know it's one of my favorites, but I didn't realize it was that long or that popular. Anyways, is it sad that I can't even remember the first mangas I have read that started this little series? There is just so many out there that I'm sure this will keep going until I've read them all.

I know I originally thought that there were only fifty volumes of this series, but I was wrong. I actually looked it up and found out that there is almost a hundred volumes. The ninety-sixth one comes out sometime this year. I don't even know how many of those volumes are actually translated to English. I guess we will just have to find out the more I read the series. Anyways we left off with the last volume with Luffy and his friends trapped on an island where two giants are still fighting out an old battle that seems to have no end to it. Then one of the drinks one of the giants was drinking suddenly explodes, making the giant think that Luffy and his friends are the cause of it. Anyways, Luffy and friends fine out who is responsible. Seems like the Baroque Works is still on their tail and found out that the giants even have a bounty on their heads. So Mr. 5 and Mr. 3 along with their partners team up to capture everyone. But we all know that it wasn't going to go as planned because Luffy has the bounty on his head for a reason. Anyways, after beating everyone the volume leaves off with Sanji is Mr. 3's hide out house in the middle of the jungle. He then hears a snail phone ringing and decides to answer it. When he does, it's Mr. 0 on the other end of the line and that is where the volume ends. I feel like a lot happens in these volumes, but once you go to talk about it you realize that not a whole lot happens. It seems like the animes really drag out each battle when the mangas only need one or two volumes to get the point across. I love reading these and even though I know what is going on until after Mr. 0's defeat, it's still refreshing to read about it.

I remember absolutely nothing from the last volume other than that they are all on a scouting mission. I don't know what they are scouting or what they are looking for, but I guess we will find out the more I read. Anyways, they are on their mission and people are dying. Pretty normal with this series when you have titans chasing after you and eating humans. Then you have the abnormal who seems to be on a mission. Armin figures this out and tries to figure out how they could tell the person in charge of their area in the formation. I don't think he was able to get the message out, but it appears that by the end of the volume, they already knew about it. They had traps set up to capture the abnormal.  I don't remember how this worked out in the anime when I watched it, but I'm hoping the next volume will shed some light on the matter. I feel like I don't talk much about this series like I'm not paying attention. But I really do enjoy it. The only problem is that is gets a little repetitive after a while. They are just constantly killing titans and trying to survive. Sure we have the whole mystery on why some humans are able to turn into titans themselves and that pretty much is the only reason why I still keep reading. Why do some people have while other don't? What is in the basement of Eren's old house? These things keep me coming back because I would like to know what is going to happen next.

I think I left the series off with the last volume just starting the battles against Deidara and Sasori. Honestly I don't even think the battle against Deidara even started. I think it was just about to start when the volume ended. But I know that Sasori's should be coming close to an end. Also it should hurry to end because Sakura got poisoned and if she doesn't take care of it, she could die. But she is a main character so we all know that she isn't going to die anytime soon. Also due to mean people giving out spoilers, I already know who is all going to die in this series. You people suck by the way. Anyways, the battle with Sasori ends and you would think I would remember how it happened, but I didn't. There were a few times I thought he was finally defeated only to have him suddenly appear elsewhere or regenerate. But they finally defeat him and go join Naruto and Kakashi. Which they are pretty much finished with their fight. But do we really call it a fight. They chase Deidara and then make him lose his other arm, making it impossible for him to perform any of his exploding tricks. Even if he uses his last move in the end in order to escape. Anyways, Gaara is finally saved with a cost, but at least he is now safe. I'm just curious if he is still as powerful as he was when he had the sand demon inside him.

So until next time...

Almost done reading Without Merit

Hello Bookies,

I'm not sure where I left off when explaining this book, but I do have to say that the second half of the book has put me through an emotional rollercoaster. Everything is getting revealed and everyone is working out all of the issues that need working out. And all because Merit put it on paper for everyone to read. The first issue addressed and somewhat fixed is the issue with her OCD brother. They talk about the issue that affected Merit since it had happened. Her brother apologizes and explains why he even did it in the first place. He thought that kissing her would cure him from being gay, but he highly regrets it. Merit and him have a heart to heart and now they can be normal siblings again. Even if Merit keeps getting asked on why she never noticed that her brother was gay. The next issue is that the dog that showed up at their house dies on the way to the vet. Merit is sad that it happened and she isn't sure why. But her thoughts are stopped when she gets answers her brother's phone and realizes that her father is in jail. They all question as to why their father is in jail and when they pick him up they find out they were trying to bury the dog with their owner in the cemetery.  Honor then says a few things on the way home and another issue gets addressed. But before I go into that, I just want to say that Honor really pisses me off. I really hope we see what her deal is with the dying boyfriends and all that. Anyways, they find out that their mother wasn't sick to begin with. Okay, she is sick but not sick in the physical sense. It is more like the mental health region where she gets episodes where she comes up with an illness that is killing her. The father explains a bit more and decides that he needs to walk home. Eventually the siblings, step-uncle, and Sagan all go on an adventure to finish what their father started. Burying the dead dog with it's owner. Honor and Merit are told to keep watch, but Merit is against it even though Sagan insisted. Merit admits that she doesn't want to be alone with Honor and says that she is pretty sure her sister hates her. But they get the heart to heart they needed to have. And that is pretty much where I left off before this post. Now if you want to know how this book ends, please go read the book. Maybe even buy it. I highly recommend this book to all of you and I love it. Even if it takes me on an emotional rollercoaster.

So until next time...

Halfway through Without Merit

Hello there Bookies,

I know it has been a few days but I wanted to be halfway through the book before I made a post. I'm not exactly halfway through, but I'm close enough that it counts. Anyways, this book is so complicated that I'm sure that if it was a soap opera, I would actually watch it because it confuses the crap out of me and I need to know what the heck is going on.  The book even starts out confusing. Like I actually thought our lead character, Merit, was actually dreaming. But it turns out she wasn't and was just mistaken as her twin sister. Then Merit explains how their family isn't all that normal. Everyone has their secrets or secret obsessions. Her father is an unofficial polygamist. Her twin sister likes to date guys who are on their death bed because of what happened with her first boyfriend. Her brother is very OCD. Her mother won't leave the house and lives in the basement. Then there is her step mother who's brother joins their little complicated world and makes it even more complicated. Also it seems like I get so into this book that I forget that there is a world around me. Especially at work. Thank you for that Mrs. Hoover. Anyways, I'm going through this book faster than I would like. I would start a chapter and before I know it, the chapter is almost done. I kind of don't want this to end, but I still love it. So far I love it. I can't really make a decision when I'm not even done with the book. But we all know the truth. I'm a huge Colleen Hoover fan and I'm going to love this book. I even left off in the book where Merit gets mistaken as Honor once again. And then has Sagan, who is mistakenly thought to be Honor's boyfriend that lives with them, call her a name because she tried to kiss him while he thought she was Honor. I wonder how this is all going to work out. Also I hope the whole intro of him kissing Merit in the beginning when he thought she was Honor then gets explained. So many things still need to get explained here. I am hoping things start getting explained soon because I'm impatient. I need to know what is going on.

So until next time...

Started reading Without Merit by Colleen Hoover

Hey there Bookies,

I have another Collen Hoover book to read. I just love her books and when I saw this on the bookshelves in the library, I just had to get it. Anyways, I'm going into this book blind. I don't know what it is about or anything like that. I just know I'm about to be put on a rollercoaster of emotions. I wish I could say more, but I haven't even opened the book yet. Wish me luck guys and I will tell you more once I know more.

Almost done reading Royal Blood

Hello Bookies,

Let me just say this flat out, while reading this book I couldn't help but ask myself "was I really this stupid when I was this age?" I get that our main character is only sixteen, maybe seventeen, years old. She is young and has a whole life ahead of her. But the way she treats things is like it is the end of the world and she can't imagine life without her vampire boyfriend. I get that the whole theme of the series is to find someone who accepts you for the way you are and high school sweethearts can end up together. But this is my thought with this theme. Things change as you get older, there is no telling that she will love the same guy twenty years from now and she is asking him to turn her into a vampire. It feels like how Raven is written really reflects on how teenagers actually think about life and it is annoying. I hate to give a bad review on this book, much less the series, but I can't help it. It just reminds me that I was once this stupid and would have died because my boyfriend dumped me during homecoming freshmen year. Actually happened, but we worked it out and became the best of friends and that is a whole different story. Those were dark days and this series reminds me so much of them. Also the major flaw I find in Raven is the fact that she is told to wait multiple times. But does she wait? Nope. She hears that everyone has seen Alexander's parents but her. So she sneaks to the mansion to see if she can see them, only to get busted by Alexander. Then when she finds out that mansion is being sold, she begs to him to never leave her or turn her right then and there. Then she turns around and get mad because he didn't tell her to begin with, which he did try but she kept talking over him. Girl should have just shut her trap and maybe would have been told sooner about the whole situation. Then they decide to come up with a plan to keep Alexander in Dullsville, but we all know that Raven is going to F that up as well. Of course, Raven's parents are a voice of reason, but she is like the world will be over and I don't want to wake up ever again if my vampire boyfriend leaves. May I add that she has never had a boyfriend before Alexander and she is already hearing wedding bells? I do not miss being a teen. Anyways, Raven comes up with the solution to spread rumors about the mansion so that way no one would want to buy it. It also works too well in this case and her mother almost bans her from going to the mansion all together. Anyways, the plan seems to be working fine and Alexander's parents are starting to think they are making a big mistake. Then the next day, Trevor who is Raven's "nemesis" breaks the news to her that his father was going to buy the mansion. Only to tear it down and build something else there, like a strip mall. Raven tells him that can't happen and he just speeds off after saying that he can't doe what is planned, but his father can. This is pretty much where I left off in the book. Raven still trying to solve the problem to save the only place she sees as home and that holds the only hope of her boyfriend staying. I still have few pages to read and then I'm finished with the book. If you guys want to know what happens to the mansion feel free to read the book yourselves. I might take a break reading this series just so I can get over the stupidity of my teenage years of being equally dumb. Either way, I still enjoy the series and a little sad that I'm almost done with it. Just two more books to go.

So until next time...

Started reading Royal Blood by Ellen Schreiber

I'm on a roll, Bookies.

With how the last book ended with this series, this one should be just as good. I am not sure how this one is going to play out. I know I always say that this is going to be a quick read, but I get so bored with this series that I literally feel too old to be reading this series. If I had just finished this while in high school, then I wouldn't have to try to finish the series now. But I have three more books after this one and then I'm done. Anyways, I do enjoy this book but not as much as I should and I feel really bad about it. But, I'm still curious on how the cliff hanger from the last book is going to play out in this one. From the first page that I've read so far, the cliff hanger isn't even mentioned. How dare they? But I'm only one page in and it can still come up. The only think I can do right now is just continue to read.

So until next time....

Finished reading Finding Cinderella

What is up my Bookies?

I finished this book a lot faster than I thought I would. I know it was an easy read and only 130 pages. But I was reading this at work and I expected it to take so much longer. But it didn't. Only because it's a slow weekend and we don't have that many customers coming. Either way I loved the book and I am so happy that I have a job that gives me the time I need to actually read. So the book went slightly how I predicted it. Only Daniel wasn't really looking for Cinderella in this book. It was more like fate threw them together. Then you spend like the whole time reading, knowing that Six is Cinderella and you are just wondering when both of them figure it out. Then when they finally do, you are confused by what the hell happened between them for at least a chapter. And, then Colleen Hoover drops a bombshell at the end of the chapter and you have no idea how to act. Then Daniel and Six go through this mess that they don't even need to go through because they can just talk it out. But it is understandable because of the emotions they go through during this time and I'm glad they eventually work through it. The book then ends with me hoping that they eventually find what Six gave away and wouldn't mind a book that is a continuation to this one. Maybe even an continuation with Holder's and Sky's story as well. Doesn't have to happen but it is a good idea.

So until next time...

Reading Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover

Hey there Bookies,

I didn't waste time to get my hands on this book. But having this book means that I'm officially done with this series. This is going to be a quick read and it was hinted in Holder's point of view. The book is about Daniel who is Holder's best friend. This book is probably going to go into more detail on the story he told Breckin and Holder. Then it will probably lead him into looking for his Cinderella. I wish I could say more but this book is only 130 pages and I can always say more once I'm finished with the book.

So until next time...

Almost done reading Losing Hope

Hello Bookies,

I know that it has been a while and I am sorry. I stopped reading for a little bit and focused on resting my mind because I knew this book was going to put me through the ringer. Anyways, I would rather have books put my emotions in a mess instead of reality. But that is a whole different story. Back to the book. I'm not sure where I left off with my last post but I just got done with the whole thing of Holder freaking out and walking out of Sky's life. Now if you read Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, you know all that is going on. This book is basically just Holder's side of the story. Which is pretty cool because my favorite book of all time has the same scenario. I just can't remember the point on when Sky remembers her past. I know it is coming up, I just can't remember how. Also in this book there is an explanation on why Holder's sister Les committed suicide. She left him a letter to read before she died and I'm kind of dying to know what it says. I know it something that Holder needs to see in order to fully move on. This book is so good and I'm almost done with it even though Goodreads says otherwise. But if you have not checked out this book or the book Hopeless, I highly suggest you go check them out. I won't be posting anymore about this book after this and I will be moving on to the novella which was hinted a little bit about in this book. I love it when things tie in together. But go check out this series and go check out more of Colleen Hoover's books. She is an amazing writer that deserves lots of love.

So until next time....
