Finished reading The Teacher

 Hello there Bookies,

I'm trying to cope with how this book ended. I literally have no words because all of the twists and turns this book took me through. So much happens that I don't know what to say other than, this was a really good book. I highly recommend it if you are into thrillers that are full of twists and turns. There is one part that was pretty predictable, but it didn't ruin the book at all. Only because the plot twist that follows just makes you forget that there is some predictability in the book. You also assume that most of the characters are around the same age, but they aren't. That is the only hint I am going to give you. If you want to learn about what happens in this book, I suggest you go to your nearest library or bookstore and get it. This is my first Freida McFadden book and I was not disappointed. This is the first book that gets five stars only because I just couldn't stop thinking about it when I was reading it. It didn't make me cry or feel any emotion other than wondering what is going to happen next. Loved the book. Now I'm going to try to recover from the book hangover this book has caused.

So until next time...

I took a small break

 Hello Bookies,

There is nothing like burning yourself out trying to read 24 books before April 15th. I had to take a small break, so I haven't really done any reading. I have also accepted that it is okay to not read 24 books. I have completed 13 books so far and that is good. I've got like three bingos already but I won't get the grand prize and that is okay. All I can say is that tried and 13 books are taken off of my TBR list. So what I'm going to do is return some of the audiobooks I got and cut down my stack of library books. I think seeing the big stack intimidates me and it makes me not want to read. I'll be happy to officially finish books 12 and 13 on the bingo sheet. When it comes to Children of Blood and Bone, I was told by a co-worker that the book is so much better actually reading the book than listening to the audiobook. So I bought the book and we will see how it goes. Now I just need some peace and quiet to actually be able to read.

So until next time....

Reading update

 Hello Bookies,

I figured that this would be easier than making a separate post for each book I am reading. I'm determined to finish this reading challenge, but it doesn't look likely when I took breaks from reading. My mind can only absorb so much. Also I was reading a book that was taking so long to read. And I thought Stephen King's Fairytale was a monster of a book.

Children of Blood and Bone is an interesting book, but it takes so long. I've read only a third of the book and it took me almost five hours to get that far. I've been listening to the audiobook in hopes that it will go faster but that didn't work. I ended up returning it because I was starting to get bored with the book. The book had an interesting concept, but it felt like it was just repeating some things. You can say that this book was DNF. I do plan on going back to it, but I needed a break from it. So I will not be rating this book or saying that I finished it until I get a little further in the book. But right now I need a break from all the information in this book to the point it doesn't feel like everything is just being repeated.

The Teacher is a book that I've been trying to read because I'm so hooked, but I have a family that won't leave me alone when I have a book in my hand. This book has so many twists and turns going on. Also there is a student-teacher affair that does take place. Now I'm just curious if this is all in the head of the student, wouldn't that be a huge plot twists? That all that is happening in the book between the student and the teacher wasn't real. That she made it up because she has some undiagnosed mental disability. But it won't explain the prologue of the book. Well, maybe it does in a way. I can't wait to read more in the book and find out what is going on.

The Atlas Six is a book I grabbed for the reading challenge but I didn't make note on where the book actually lies on the bingo sheet. Now that I started it, I will now have to finish it. This book is pretty quick when you have the audiobook. I'm already a quarter of the way and our students have already experienced an attack on their first night of their studies. This also shows that they have to work together in order to accomplish certain things. This book focuses around the Library of Alexandria that was secretly moved before the fire. It has this secret society the protects it that is made of people that can wield magic. Obviously this book is a fantasy, but it is nice to live in a world where everything in the Library of Alexandria wasn't completely lost to a fire.

So until next time....

Been reading The Teacher by Frida McFadden

Hello Bookies,

I took a break from other books because I got my hands on a book published in 2024 for the reading challenge. Downside to that is that I only have two weeks to finish the book. So far I find the book very interesting. The prologue even pulled me in right away. Nothing like a book starting with someone digging a grave to hide a body. We don't know who is digging the grave and who died. Now I have to read the book to see what caused the scene at the very beginning. I can't wait to see what else I learn in this book. We so far have a teacher who seems strict and also jealous of the attention her husband gets from other people. Also here husband probably gives more attention to people than his own wife. Then we have a student that was part of a student-teacher affair. Of course, the student says nothing happened between them but no one believes her. So now she is outcasted because of the rumors going around even though she is still sticking to her story that nothing happened. Proof that people will believe what they want to believe, even when the truth is placed right in front of their nose. But I guess I will have to read the book and hopefully find out what really happened between the teacher and the student.

So until next time...

Started reading Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

Hello Bookies,

After deciding to DNF Feed by Mira Grant, I moved on to the next book. I still used Feed for the challenge because I did get pretty far in it. This book is also for the challenge. I believe it is for the prompt "A book with a culture you are unfamiliar with" and I am glad that I have the audiobook for this book. I don't know much about the book but it was on my TBR list. But I'm glad to have the audiobook because there are some words that I would have difficulty reading. It will be nice to listen to the book with the proper pronunciations in the book. I'll keep you updated on the book as I continue reading the book. It is over seventeen hours of reading, so wish me luck.

So until next time...

Trying to read Feed

Hello Bookies,

There is on thing about zombie books when it comes to me. It is either really interesting and I can't put the book down. Or, the book drags on so much that when action finally shows up in the book, I just don't care anymore. This book is the second one. It drags on. I know I got the characters mixed up. Sean is the brother, not a friend. So we only have three main characters. But other than that nothing has been really learned. We had a little history on how zombies took over the world. We got a little history of our main character George, or Georgia. We also got a little bit history of the worlds politics and news. But nothing new to really progress the story. I'm not even sure I'm going to finish the book because I'm so bored. To know that I have eleven more hours of this book makes me cringe. I think we are going to get our first one star book of the year.

So until next time...

Let's Get Personal #14

 Hello Bookies,

It is a new month and it is time to give a good personal update on my life. As you all know I've been working on a reading challenge where we fill out a bingo sheet full of prompts. I have eleven done so far and my goal is to fill the whole sheet. That is twenty-four books all together. I'm almost halfway there. I've been reading books that I usually don't read, so I guess this challenge is kind of good for me. It also helps me get through that long TBR list.

Also as promised, I will share my rating system. I know some of you are probably confused when I give a book I loved a four out of five star rating. But I hardly give one star ratings. In order to get a one star rating, I have to DNF the book. With audiobooks at my hand, one star books are very rare to find now. Two star are books I've finished but didn't really care for. Three star books are books I have read and thought that is was okay but weren't for me. Four star books are books I've read and would highly recommend. Those are the books that I loved but didn't make me really feel anything, like something was missing in it. Five star books are as rare as the one star books. Those are the books I've read and made me cry or have to take breaks to absorb the information I've read. Five star books are the books that I can't stop thinking about even after reading so many books. Five star books are the unforgettable books.

Now that you know my rating system, hopefully it helps with the confusion. I don't know what else to update y'all on. February wasn't an eventful month. But I do plan on getting back into making videos for my video blog and also my gaming channel. I already have a video I have to edit and put up. I might even return to streaming my games now that I'm getting into the swing of things.

So until next time...
