Born of Legend

8/15/16

I'm slowly starting this book only because of the no books ban at home. Family can be so mean sometimes. Anyways, the book is all about Nykyrian's twin brother Jullien. It's quite fascinating to see how his life actually was that when we read about in the previous books. Also, the book plays into the last book that came out. But it seems that all these books have a slight theme to them, nothing is all that it seems. Jullien didn't grow up as the pampered prince that everyone thinks of him as. Nykyrian wasn't sent away by his mother like he had been led to believe. Someone else was a long lost prince. Another was pretending to be gay when he actually wasn't just because he was protecting his mother, or at least that is what I think it was. But the series has all of these elements to it and I guess that is why I love it so much. But back to the book that I have in my hands at the moment. The book starts off with Jullien, who goes by Dagger in the story, saving a little boy. He nearly dies but gets taken in by the little boy's mother and crew.  The majority of the first few chapters is him being on edge because there is this huge bounty on his head that his grandmother put out for him. Got to love family sometimes. But all in all, he joins their little crew to work for them only because our leading lady, Ushara, offered him a job so he could have food and a safe place to sleep. How nice of her. Sadly that is as far as I have gotten. This book has over seven hundred pages and I'm only on chapter three. Lets hope I can finish this book before it has to go back.

So the book is playing out great. Our leading man who is going by the alias Dagger, is living the dream. Slowly falling in love with a woman who's son he saved from slavers. Able to sleep without having to sleep with one eye open. Also he has someone there to hold him at night when he thinks that his life is all a dream. Sure she may have married them without letting him know. He had to find out through a new close friend that  he got married. Imagine the surprise he got from that. Now her family is trying to make him disappear and they do succeed. I left off with our leading lady searching for Dagger because he didn't come home like he was supposed to. Things were about to get serious when I had to close the book. Downside to reading while you are at work.

I have no idea how many posts I'm going to make for this book. I think this is pretty much going to be the second to last one, to be honest. Sad I know. Anyways, our leading lady found our missing prince. It wasn't a place she would like to see him in and I can understand the whole nearly burning the entire place down. I would probably have done the same if I were in her shoes. Anyways, our leading lady returns Dagger home and after exploding a ship, they live happily ever after. But the book and drama aren't over yet. Our leading lady Ushara still has a family she has to deal with that is still highly against her marriage. Well until they realize what Dagger's actual bloodline is.
Now they are all bubbly happy and accepting. But when things seem to be fine a little threat from Dagger's past comes up, traumatizing a child that he considers his own. Luckily things calm down for a while but it doesn't put Dagger at ease. It just makes him more paranoid. And he has right to since all hell breaks lose when he is about to get some pretty good news from our leading lady. Poor guy just can't catch a break. Also it doesn't help that Dagger pretty much disappears on his brother-in-law during an attack. The hunt for Dagger begins once again. I'm pretty sure our leading lady isn't going to let him leave her sight after this one. Things are about to get really good.

Finally, I'm almost done with the book. Sorry Bookies, but this book took forever to read. Only because people don't know enough to leave me alone. At least I can say that I'm all caught up on the series now. But that is also the sad thing, I'm all caught up. And the next book doesn't come out until February of next year. I don't think I can wait that long. I love this series so much.

Also as I was reading this book, I realized that in the last one, Julien went missing. I'm pretty sure we get to find out what happened to him in this book. I feel like I don't have to tell you guys anything that is going on in the book because if you read all of the other books, this all plays into it but through Julien's point of view. Only because in the last book, Sherrilyn Kenyon threw a lot at us about Julien and had some explaining to do. Thanks for that Sherrilyn.

Anyways, from what I've seen in the list of this series on Goodreads, it looks like there is only one book left. Please let that not be true. I was kind of hoping that this series would last forever like the Dark Hunter series. What am I going to do once Sherrilyn finishes this series? I'm sure my mother will be happy because I pretty much spent over two hundred dollars on this series alone by getting all the books that were already out at once. Sorry mom. But please don't stop the series Sherrilyn. I was hoping to see this series go into the second generation like she did with Born of Ice. Fingers crossed that she continues and is just working on the proposals for the next few books.
