Half way through Deal with the Elf King

Hello Bookies,

I'm finally about halfway through this book. It is taking me a bit longer because no one cares when they see a book in my hand. Anyways we have our leading lady, Luella, who lived a peaceful life in a small city called Capton. She was their healer and took her job seriously. Only problem is that her childhood friend wants to ruin that peaceful life by stealing her away before the elves come. She keeps telling him that she doesn't want to leave because she has duties. But it doesn't stop him from telling her family that they are going to get married, much to Luella's surprise. She scolds her friend and then gets to work for the day. Then she goes to Town Hall to figure out what the council has to say about the fact that they couldn't find the Human Queen that the elves are looking for. But before they announce their plans, the elves arrive. Then someone collapses and Luella being a healer, runs to help them. The Elf King watches her perform what she needs to do and it turns out that Luella is the Human Queen everyone was looking for. The only reason that no one knew is because her childhood friend gave her a necklace to wear and she never took it off. The necklace hid her powers away and once removed they surged, turning the city center into almost a forest. Then she gets whisked away to the temple and is forced to marry the Elf King and then taken across the Fade to live among the elves. She is a little resistant to the whole thing because she is just trying to make sense of some things. Also she feels like she was stolen from her life's purpose. So the first half of the book is her either fighting or trying to adjust to her new life. Once you get about halfway, the romance starts showing. But the king is fighting his feelings because him and Luella made a deal that she will try to break the cycle of Human Queens and she only has three months to do it. It is like the king keeps reminding himself that she isn't going to stay, so there is no point in acting on his feelings. There are other details I skipped but feel free to read the book to learn about those details. I'm enjoying the book so far though.

So until next time...
