Let's Get Personal #19

 Hey there Bookies,

I'm currently debating if I should continue reading a book or just DNF it. It isn't like I hate the book, but I'm also not really enjoying it. The plot isn't keeping my attention all that much. So far I'm experiencing people complaining about the cards they were dealt in life so far. Yes, I am talking about Long Shot. The reason I'm debating is because I feel like not being a quarter of the way is not giving it a fair shot. But if it is like pulling teeth to motivate me to read it, then I should return it. Okay, it isn't like pulling teeth, but I can go a day without reading the book and not feel bad about it. It's one of those kinds of situations. The story is interesting enough to keep you reading, but it is a bit boring. So now I'm going to sit here and stare at the book wondering if I should return it for now and rerequest it from library later. Or, return it and forget it. Or, stick out reading the book and take forever to finish it. Of course, this choice would be so much easier if people just let me read in my house. Native American homes are not as quiet as people may think. We are up in everyone's business, even when we shouldn't be.

So until next time....

Reading Long Shot

 Hello Bookies,

I really thought I was breezing through this book and then I recorded how far I was in the book. I'm not even a quarter of the way through the book. So far I have learned pretty much nothing other than our two main characters are highly attracted to each other but they just met at the wrong time in fate. Only because our leading lady is dating a rival of out leading man. Also out leading lady, Iris, comes from a really tough background of her mother using her beauty to survive. Something she doesn't want for herself and has worked hard to part of the sports world. The only thing that could stop our leading lady is the uncertainty of the future. Especially when people are pressuring her to settle down with her boyfriend and follow him where ever he goes in his basketball career. She obviously doesn't want that and she makes it very well known, but it feels like no one is understanding or listening to her wants. Then she gets pregnant. Throwing a huge wrench in her plans for the future she wanted for herself. That is pretty much where I left off. I think I know more about Iris than our leading mad, August. I'm pretty sure I'm at the point that we can just skip all of August's chapters and focus on Iris but then we would miss some stuff that might play a big part in the story. Like how August tells Iris that she shouldn't settle and never give up on her dreams. Even if she feels stuck at the moment. I can see why Iris would be attracted to August. He is the first person who actually listened and understood her. I'm just reading to see when these two finally get together.

So until next time...

Started reading Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan

Hey there Bookies,

As much as I want to read the third book of the Dreamland Billionaires series, I have a book I need to read for work. This is a book I was on the fence about suggesting to add to our collection. I figured if I read it that it would help with my decision. I don't know much about this book, but I think I read some books by Kennedy Ryan. Also I do predict that this is going to be like every romance novel in existence that I have read. I'm going into this book completely blind, which will give a good authentic reaction to the book. Wish me luck.

So until next time...

Finished reading Terms and Conditions

Hello Bookies,

I guess I like the fake marriage trope because I couldn't put this book down. Even though it is still a little predictable, I still enjoyed it. I might actually like this book more than the first one. Which makes me kind of excited to read the last book about the middle brother Cal. I'm sure the book will remind me what his conditions were in order to get his portion of inheritance because I don't remember. I just know that in this book they keep asking him if he contacted Alana. But I knew from the beginning that Declan was going to mess up in this book. I was actually starting to think that there wasn't going to be any drama in this book because it wasn't until the last few chapters. But it happened and Declan did all he could to win Iris back. She didn't make is easy either using Cal as someone needed to go through in order to talk to her. I admire her determination to fight going back but all it took was a few words with mom to make her forgive him. Only because mom's know best and just wants you to be happy. I think that is why I related to Iris in this book. She had a close relationship with her mom and had a tough childhood. Maybe that is why I liked this book more because I actually related to one of the characters. Sadly, I don't hand out stars like candy. Even though I liked the book, it gets three out of five stars. It still has room for improvement, but I still enjoyed it.

So until next time....

Halfway through reading Terms and Conditions

Hey there Bookies,

I just found myself curled up in a small ball in the corner of my couch while reading this book. Not sure how long I was like that but it shows that I enjoy reading this book. Nothing like a fake marriage trope to get me interested. We still have the formula of a rich guy who is cold hearted and a woman who came from pretty much nothing. But at least these two have known each other for three years and already know certain things about each other. The only thing I will complain about is that our leading lady Iris is scared to tell Declan about her little learning challenge. She's dyslexic and I don't know why she thinks she has to keep it a secret from everyone. Well except Cal, but he is considered her best friend. Best friends are supposed to know things like that. But we learn pretty quickly that these two have had interest in each other for a while. This whole marriage situation thing just kind of forced them together as a way to test their feelings. Sadly they both think that the other is just faking the whole situation and won't give in to their desires in fear of getting hurt. Also I have a problem with the lack of communication going on between these two. Instead of closing up or running away, I'm sure this story would progress a whole lot faster. But I guess that is the point of the writing. To keep you reading until you get to the point where you want to shout "Finally!" I'm not there yet and I need a small break that involves food.

So until next time....

Started reading Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher

Hello Bookies,

It's time for stone cold Declan to have his shot at love. This formula of a romance is a little bit different but still follows the standard one. In order to earn his portion of inheritance, Declan has to get married and produce a child. If you remember Rowan, the one who was in the first book, this is his oldest brother. Declan is shown as this intense guy who doesn't show emotion. He also sees no point in having any relationships of any kind. So his solution to this whole must be married and have a child issue for his inheritance, he tries to find a woman who is willing to fake a marriage with him long enough so he can get said inheritance. Not easy for his assistant, Iris, who is in charge of finding a woman to be up for the task. The book starts with her finding the perfect person, but Declan has scared her away at the last minute. Now with no choice, Iris offers herself for the deal. She thinks that she is helping a friend out to accomplish what he wants, but soon lines start to blur. I'm not even a quarter of the way through the book and we already have our banters, hurt feelings, and mixed signals. Declan just might not be as predictable as Iris thought.

So until next time...

Let's Get Personal #18

 Hello there Bookies,

I returned all of my audiobooks. I just don't have the attention span for them at the moment. Luckily the only one I was reviewing is Midnight Jewel and it should be quick to get a physical copy of that book. But it will still take a while because I'm trying to get through my holds list with the library and it is long. I need to request books, read them, and then return them before I can even request any books. The 75 limit is not my friend. Anyway I will try to finish  Midnight Jewel when I can, just not anytime soon. Luckily I'm about a quarter of the way through the book already and I feel pretty confident that I'll finish quickly once I get it. The only problem is that so far I find the book boring. I will probably end up dragging my feet on getting the book to finish. Unless you want me to finish it right away. Just let me know. Right now I'm going to read the second book of the Dreamland Billionaires series and another book I'm reading for work related things. Just thought I would keep you updated.

So until next time....

PS: I've pretty much through out my reading challenges at this point. I just want to get through my TBR list at this point.

Let's Get Personal #17

 Hello there Bookies,

I have a confession to make. I'm not getting into A Endless Fire. I'm not sure why but just wanting to read it feels like a chore. Now I'm just having it sit while I stare at it, wondering if I will try to continue to read it or return it for now. The first book I loved and I don't remember having this problem. But for some reason I just can't get myself to read the second book. I don't really know what I should do. Maybe I should return it. But what if I want to read the book but then I have to wait a long time to get it back? So then I don't want to return it. I'll probably decide in a few days. Maybe talk to some people about it and see what they think I should do. I just thought I would let you know. Also I don't know if my personal life is interfering with my desire to read. My car broke down just recently after I just got a new set of keys for it two weeks ago. Then I have a trip coming up that I have to save up for. But everything happens for a reason and it will all work out eventually.

So until next time....

Started listening to Midnight Jewel by Richelle Mead

Hello Bookies,

I'm taking a small break from reading and returning to listening to audiobooks. My ADHD is getting bad and this is the only way I can read at the moment. I haven't officially start my fall reading challenge of sixty horror books. Not a good sign since I'm already three days into the fall. I'll work on it while I listen to my audiobook. I don't remember if I reviewed the first book of this series. I'll have to also look that up while listening to my audiobook. Honestly I thought that this book would continue on from the first book but it doesn't. It appears that each book just shows the different points of view of different girls going through the process of The Glittering Court. Also honestly I probably won't pay much attention to the book. The first book wasn't very memorable to me. I have a feeling that this book is going to be the same.

So until next time...

Started reading A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross

 Hello Bookies,

I've been meaning to post sooner but life has been busy. I'm already on chapter  eight. The book takes place six months after the first book ends. Adaira is in the west and Jack doesn't have the motivation to play music. But so far the conflict in this book is not only that out lovers are separated by the clan line, but also the East side of the island is experiencing a hardship. An orchard is sick with magic that can spread to humans. Also Jack's home can't have a flame lit in it anywhere. That is as much as I know now and so far I'm quite interested. The prologue even gives a little peak into the spirit realm where a spirit is casted out because they didn't want to listen to the spirit of the North Wind. But I'm going to have to read more in order to see what the story holds. I'm just starting so not a whole lot has happened. I'll try to update more, but with school starting, schedules have to adjust.

So until next time....
