Started reading Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

Hello Bookies,

For the state challenge, we are in Minnesota. Also this is the second book to Shiver. I had mixed feelings about Shiver and I know I'm going to have mixed feelings about this book too. I can see why the teens at the library doesn't like books like this much. Already I feel like the book is taking forever and I'm only about five percent in. But I started and I now have to finish it. There are many different points of view in the book. I already forgot all of the different characters names. I think there is Sam, Cole, and I think Grace. As far as I know that Sam is adjusting to a new life as a human instead of a werewolf. Also there are the new wolves that are in play which I'm sure was mentioned in the first book but I don't remember anything from that book. I have to be honest, I don't remember much from the first book. Good thing this book mentions some things that the first book have happened to help me refresh my memory a little bit. Wish me luck with this book.

So until next time...

Let's Get Personal #15

 Hello Bookies,

It's been a while since I got personal with y'all. Right now I'm working on a challenge I made for myself. I am trying to visit all the fifty states of the United State of America through books. I will have until the end of August to meet my goal. I'm not optimistic but I'm still having fun. Also I'm working on my fall reading challenge that includes a theme of books that I want to read. This year I'm embracing spooky season and reading Horror books for the months September through November. I'm making my list and super excited to see what books I'll discover. I'm doing okay with my summer challenge. I've read three books so far, so that is three states off of my list. I only have forty-seven more to go. It's a lot of work and I have mangas if I need a small break from the challenge. It is always good to pace yourself.

So until next time...

Almost done reading Intensity

Hey there Bookies,

I've apparently have read this book before but have no memory of it what so ever. Which confuses me. Like nothing in the book is ringing any bells so far to me. I guess we can used the excuse that I read this book almost five years ago, but it would still be somewhat familiar to me. Also I can see why I wouldn't remember this book. Not a whole lot happens. There are so many visions in this book that it gets confusing a bit. This book is a little anti-climatic for the end of a series. Nick may be trying to fix things that his distant future son has messed up when it comes to the timeline, but I feel like it is more of him trying to figure out who he really is. To accept that he doesn't have to be like all of the others before him. I'll probably forget about this book once again in another few years. The book gets about a three out of five stars from me. I just wasn't that into it. I can't remember what I gave it before, but I had a different reading taste back then.

So until next time....

Finished reading Small Spaces

Hello Bookies,

I couldn't wait. I saw that the library had the physical book and I grabbed it. Also I still feel like this book might be scary for some kids. Either way I enjoyed it. There was the right amount of mystery, folklore, and tension to keep you guessing. Also the character growth in the book is good and very noticeable. I would recommend this book for those that love the spooky or just a good Halloween vibe book. The book gets four out of five stars from me. If you want to know how the book ends and how the kids escape The Smiling Man, I suggest you pick up this book.

So until next time...

Started reading Intensity by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Hello Bookies,

How come I didn't know there were more books to this series? I had to find out through work when a patron returned one of these books. I thought I was done with the series, but I guess not. Anyways, I figured I would check out this book while I wait for the other one to be returned to me. Do I remember anything from the series? Not really. It's been a while and I've read a lot of books since then. But I do remember all of the characters and I think that is good enough. I guess in this book of the series, Nick is trying to fix the broken timeline that his son from the far off future is messing up. That is all I know. Which will make this book interesting. Now if only my brothers would leave me alone long enough for me to make any progress in the book.

So until next time....

Reading Small Spaces

Hello Bookies,

I have to be honest that I feel like this book is a little scary for little kids. Unless the kid who is reading this book had my childhood full of spooky stuff and horror movies. Anyways, I was really getting into the book when it suddenly stopped. Turns out my loan for the book expired. Leaving me wondering if the three sixth graders will make it out of the Smiling Man's world. I instantly rerequested the book. I need to know what happens next. But to get you up to speed on the book. The book is about a girl who is in sixth grade and is a big bookworm. Her mother tragically died the year prier, so it is just her and her dad. Our main character's name is Ollie and on the way home from school one day she meets a crazy woman who is about to throw a book into the river. Ollie being a bookworm couldn't understand why the woman would be doing such a thing and took the book from the crazy woman. Ollie then ends up reading the book, thinking that it is just some made up story. Then her class goes on a field trip to an old farm and weird things start to happen. Ollie thinks about the book she has been reading and notices the similarities. Eventually on the way back to the school the bus breaks down and Ollie's instincts tell her to leave the bus and hide. Two of her classmates end up following her and were spared from being taken away by mysterious beings. Now they are trying to figure out what is going on and how to return back to their world before they get taken as well. That is pretty much where I left off before my book stopped. Hopefully it won't be long until I get the book back.

So until next time...

Small Spaces by Katherine Arden

Hello Bookies,

I'm working on a summer challenge for myself. It is something I felt like doing for a program at work, but trying it out to see how easy it is. So far I'm on my second book. The challenge is to read a book that takes place in one of the fifty states of the United States of America during the summer months. That gives me at least two and a half months to read. This book took some research but I found out that it takes place in Vermont. So that is another state crossed off the list. Only 48 more to go. The last book I read was in California. Anyways, I don't know much about this book. It has been sitting in my TBR list for a while. Also I know that it is a middle grade book. That is all I know. I'm hoping that this will be a quick read. I have the audiobook, so I can do other things while I listen to the book. Hopefully life doesn't get in the way again. But we all know that when I'm reading is when everyone wants me for something.

So until next time....

Finished reading Trusting Liam

Hey there Bookies,

It took me a while to read this book. Life kind of got in the way. But I finally finished it. The book was good and more realistic than the other romance books I've been reading lately. There were still some areas that would have me rolling my eyes and thinking that things progressed too quickly. But the author made that a personality trait for one of the main characters, so that makes sense in a way. The main character has a history of falling hard and marrying the person they fall hard for three months later. Which I guess does happen. Anyways, the book is kind of fifty fifty for me. I don't hate it, but I also don't love it. It will probably get three stars out of five from me. This one just wasn't as dramatic as the first book and that is okay. At least now I can say I finished the series because I don't think there are more books that live in this timeline. Except the one about Kennedy's parents, but I don't have high hopes finding that book. It was hard trying to find this one. I guess we will never know.

So until next time....
